Ron Paul's VP

Nice choice.

I can't wait for the eventual showdown between Obama/Paul and Biden against Pauls VP.

The Paul/Obama debate will be like an epic battle but a debate against Biden is like watching a classic comedy film.

Obama vs. Paul in a debate would be very entertaining and I think humiliating for the current resident of the White House.

According to reddit it will be Carl Sagan.
Not sure how we're going to pull it off. But yeah.

This guy, seems like an honest man and having a military guy on the ticket could swing a lot of the pro-military crowd.

Just a thought.

Unfortunately, after this exchange a few months ago, I don't think he'll be high on Paul's radar, as honest and honorable guy he is. However, I do think he should give him some consideration for possible secretary of defense. Again, however, if you watch the video, even that seems unlikely.

What pro-military crowd are you trying to swing after Ron Paul gets the nomination? Is there some large segment of independents or Democrats that are pro-war that I don't know about? Or are you expecting the pro-war Republicans simply not to show up at the polls to vote against Obama unless Ron Paul panders to them with a VP nod?

it was a poor attempt at a joke... meaning Newt is large (Fat) .. as for the polls they are all rigged anyway and never show Ron Paul in the right place and so I just used it as a base for the joke

Um...why does Ron Paul need help with the military crowd? Kinda preaching to the choir on that one. Way too lopsided a ticket!

He'll need someone more mainstream and possibly more youthful (relatively) to balance out President Paul.

I think Rand should probably be the nominee. That way if Ron would get sick or whatever, we would have a competent person to step in.

If you pick the VP for political reasons only, then you end up with an LBJ.

Yeah, but LBJ helped that ticket out by bringing in the South vote.

Are there any competent VP candidates that would help balance but not be too extreme? Where's RP's greatest weakness?

Apparently Tim Scott (SC) is already trying to get the candidates to choose him, he has had town hall events with a lot of them:
*Rick Perry
*Herman Cain
*Michelle Bachmann
*Newt?

I don't know much about his political views though, it just appears he is hungry for the VP role.
