Ron Paul's Statement of Faith

What an awesome and rational statement. Way to go RP!

The first sentence says it all: "My faith is a deeply personal issue to me." That is one thing that annoys me about modern-day religious zealots of ALL religions. The Bible itself says that we are to pray in solitude, not publicly for show. Because the Republican party has become so synonymous with Christianity, there is no way they'll elect someone who they believe doesn't share their religious views.

My plea to non-Christians: Please don't let RP's statements about "faith" and "Jesus" put you off. I foresee them becoming more prominent in the weeks/months to come.

I don't know how churches in Iowa operate but here in Maryland we have many churches that produce their own newsletters and for a small fee you can run an advertisement in them. Do we have someone in Iowa who could contact some of the larger churches to find out if they have these and how much it would cost to run that statement, in full, in their newsletters? If it could be done I think it would be a great forum project to get that into as many church newsletters in Iowa (and other states) as possible.

EDIT: On second thought, this idea would probably violate some FEC laws but if anyone has any other ideas for how to get this out to churches I would love to hear it.

It doesn't bother me at all. Freedom OF religion also means freedom FROM religion. And I don't see Ron pushing his religion on anyone.......

I still must admitt though, I kinda fell like like I'm exploiting his faith to a degree.

So I printed up his statement (just text, no pic) and put 20 sheets on the condiment stand at Chick Fil A, I was there for about 30 minutes and only 2 people picked one up. One of the guys folded it up and put it in his pocket though.
