What an awesome and rational statement. Way to go RP!
The first sentence says it all: "My faith is a deeply personal issue to me." That is one thing that annoys me about modern-day religious zealots of ALL religions. The Bible itself says that we are to pray in solitude, not publicly for show. Because the Republican party has become so synonymous with Christianity, there is no way they'll elect someone who they believe doesn't share their religious views.
My plea to non-Christians: Please don't let RP's statements about "faith" and "Jesus" put you off. I foresee them becoming more prominent in the weeks/months to come.
