Ron Paul's Q2 fundraising numbers

I know we've all seen the rumors that RP will raise $5 million this quarter. Does anyone know for sure when the numbers have to be reported? I thought it was July 1st, but I'm not certain. And has anyone heard any more about expectations?

I know we don't want to set the bar too high, but I'd be stunned if RP didn't make at least $4 million. I gave him $2,300 and it seems like every forum I go to, every blog I visit, people are donating and getting others to donate as well.

But even if it's "only" 4 million, that would instantly rocket him to the top tier -- especially since big spenders like McCain, Romney and Giuliani have already burned a lot of their cash, while RP spends (surprise, surprise) very frugally on his campaign.

On CNN today, it was said that $5 million is the right target for a second tier candidate. So then, if Ron Paul can get that much, I wonder if CNN will be falling all over themselves to give him attention.

I've heard numbers from 2Mil to 5mil.

I believe the official report is July 15th or July 16th. June 30th is the close of the quarter, but it might take some time to close out the quarter and provide the offical totals.

Ron Paul is the only '2nd tier' candidate who will make that number. Only the 'top 3' and Ron have the ability to pull in that much money.

Campaigns have to report by July 16th. They can report earlier if they want to and I'm sure you will hear some campaigns' results prior to the 16th.

I just sent another donation.

We obviously won't KNOW until the numbers are reported end of June, but everything I have seen indicates RP should be in 4th place, both in money raised and cash on hand. I think we can be pretty comfortable in that it will be above 4 million based on what I have read, and frankly I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be a lot more (kind of a "July surprise" on the top tier) but I think we will just have to wait until the number s are published. Anyone know when the numbers become available? (I think I heard mid-July somehwere, is that right?

Even if the numbers fall short of the top 3, you got to figure Ron Paul is already getting things for free through grass roots that the other 3 pay millions for. I remember seeing Romney's internet HQ on T.V., which looked like NORAD. It looked kind of over-the-top for people that pretty much just surf the web.

The original $5M number was from a report on Free Market News, and it was unsourced and unconfirmed. A more recent number was $2.2M from Matt Pyeatt, I saw that reported on Reason Magazine's blog, "Hit & Run." Either way I think Rep. Paul will be doing well by the 16th.

I'd love the 5 million to be true, we just don't know.

I read somewhere that with the strategies involved among campaigns is such that
it's concievable that the 5 million was true but RP didn't want to let that out until he had to. Kind of like the injury report during a NFL season.

So Financial News might have had a good source on the 5 mil for all we know, but the RP campaign may have thrown cold water on it.

From someone I know who knows someone high up in the campaign, we have reason to be optimistic for the filing. :) Yes, this is hearsay, but it should be a motivation to keep on donating! Push those numbers up as high as you can!!

I'm a poor college student, but I've been inching towards to the max donation. But, if you're living comfortable, $2300 is not much to give up for a chance at a Ron Paul presidency. This is not the time to hold out.

About a week ago the RP campaign had around 2.5 million raised. With the steady growth of supporters, I would estimate for it to be around 3-3.5million at least by June 30th.
That reminds me..
As a student I am short on cash now, last week I sent some money but tonight I'm donating another $50 to the campaign.

I donated $100 in May, I was going to wait until towards the end of June for the next donation, I'll guess I'll do it tonight, another $100.
