Ron Paul's moment in the sun? How to win the upcoming Hawaii GOP caucus

People don't like getting the phone calls. They do not translate into votes. Lots of firsthand election day experience to base that on from NH. Door to door canvassing is better.

THIS x 1000. I made thousands of calls into IA, and knocked on a few doors. Door knocking = HUGE success. All the phone bankers agreed, however, that calling people was a net negative, no matter how persuasive / pleasant you were. This was real people calling too, nevermind robocalls. Robocalls are fine if you don't mention Ron Paul.

Also, anyone running facebook ads MUST read this article to get some tips on Hawaiian customs.

I've read the article and I'll be adjusting my Hawaii tactics a bit. I may not have a new ad out until I finish some homework, though.

Edit: does anyone have instructions for Hawaii's caucus? Id like to see them...

I would think that if the Paul campaign wanted to win Hawaii they would do what it takes to win it.
But I don't think the campaign has ever sold out for a state. They've never gone there and stayed. They've never spent lots of money on advertising since Iowa.

Does the Paul campaign just want to have a bunch of money in the bank when the primaries are over?

I've said this since Maine. Go somewhere. Stay. Advertise. Try to win.
It is perhaps the very conservative nature of Ron Paul himself. He just doesn't like to spend money ... Which is pretty darn good... But really, I gave it to him because I wanted it spent on trying to win. ALL THAT MONEY LEFT OVER in June is a WASTE

I don't believe they have much money left over. They did make advertising buys for Super Tuesday, which they had a separate fundraiser for, and they also spent a fair amount on direct mail and phonebanking, from what I understand.

It is expensive in time it takes to travel there and back, is the problem. It would put him out of campaigning for a day on each side.
Doesn't have to if he flies at night and sleeps on the plane.

We have to plead with the campaign to get Ron to fly out to Hawaii and PERSONALLY meet with some local elders there. Hopefully, he could stay in Hawaii for a couple days and get some visibility for him.

Could someone with access communicate this request to Doug Wead? I really believe Hawaii is a low-hanging fruit if Ron puts in the personal appearances and some time into Hawaii. It could really work.

You can email Doug Wead through his website: http://www.dougwead.com/contact.html

Are there any volunteers in Hawaii (or any other state for that matter) willing to participate in the WSRP/states page? They would just need to give me a short bio (maybe a picture, too) and be willing to answer questions.

Thanks!

That's why he should stay there.
What the heck else is he going to do?
