Ron Pauls lone vote in Congress against condemnation of Hamas

exactly...their affairs are not our business. Congress is supposed to be dealing with matters in...oh, I don't know...AMERICA.

With that insane First Nazi Oompahpah Bands "Blitkrieg Polka"'s incessant beat thumping away.

Randy

Okay...little sick teehee at the visual. That aside this will be spun to be an anti-Israel stance of Dr.Paul's instead of a not our business, why exactly are we discussing this???
Honestly, do we really need to certify we support Israel, well DUHHHH!!! We will also expect them to bark on command like good little pitbulls on a line...

Under normal circumstances, it wouldn't be wrong to condemn rocket attacks on civilians, of course. But right now there is essentially a war going on in Gaza, Israel has declared that there will be a "holocaust" in Gaza... literally, that is a quote. Israel has cut off Gaza from food, medical supplies, and electricity and has been bombing them... they've killed at least 120 people so far, most civilians.

It seems like Israel is tired of Gaza and is trying to exterminate the people living there.

And at this moment, everyone in Congress decides it's a good time to blame the Palistinians for the attack on them, and to reaffirm our complete support of Israel, with the caveat that we hope they "avoid attacks on civilians as much as possible." That is what they are mostly doing, killing civilians! It makes no sense to say "Go right ahead and bomb, but try not to hurt anyone, okay?" If they were concerned with the killing, they would be condemning Israel too, not just Hamas.

Remember that the rocket attacks Israel is complaining about are unguided and almost never hit anything.. If they kill a few people a month, that's a 'good' month for them. Israel has killed 120 people in the past week!

Israel has such a hold on our politicians that none of them has the courage to even stay silent -- if they're not saluting and proclaiming their love of Israel, AIPAC lobbyists will crack the whip.

It's sickening.

Everyone except Ron. I hope this year we can send some average Joe Q's to Congress to fight together with him!

Wow

Amazing. Amazing.

Don't these reps take a junket to Israel (you know, a "fact finding" mission) when they are first elected? I think my rep. mentioned going on one of these during a conference call. This educates them that in the Middle East, Jewish European immigrants = good / non-Jewish natives = potential terrorists. Talk about another country influencing our foreign policy. The terrorism goes both ways.

Perhaps AIPAC is merely recycling some of the foreign aid to Israel to buy the votes of Congress.

Who else thinks, besides me, that Paul voted against this because he doesn't think it's right for the US government to condemn attacks between 2 countries and we shouldn't be meddling with other country's affairs?

Exactly.

Truth Warrior ... holy crap ... I think you are correct about that...:mad::mad:

It's a self-perpetuating cycle.. Lawmaker and foreign nation team up to steal the taxpayer's money:

Lawmaker gives x dollars to foreign nation.
Foreign nation gives some of those dollars back to the lawmaker.
Both lawmaker and foreign nation profit, neither one wants to change the system.
