Rep - No

Paul

;) NO MORE WAR ON TERROR!!! NO MORE WAR FOR ISRAEL!!!

Did Kucinich not vote in this one? I'm sure he would have voted no as well.

Thank god for Ron Paul. Hopefully, we can get some more Ron Paul Republicans in there this year, so he won't be voting alone on this stuff...

What they agreed to:

Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
(1) condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the ongoing Iranian-enabled rocket attacks on Israeli civilians;
(2) supports the sovereign right of the Government of Israel to defend its territory and stop the rocket attacks on its citizens;
(3) recognizes the difficult balance Israel faces as the competing pressures of being the primary supplier of numerous necessities for Palestinian civilians, such as fuel, electricity, and medicine, even while rockets are being fired at Israel from Palestinian areas;
(4) supports Palestinian civilians who reject Hamas and all forms of terrorism, desiring to live in peace with their Israeli neighbors;
(5) places responsibility for launching the rocket attacks on Hamas and other terrorist organizations, such as Islamic Jihad, in Gaza;
(6) regards these rocket attacks and the fostering of terrorism in the Palestinian territories as direct hindrances to the peace process in the region;
(7) recognizes that the rocket attacks against Israel would not be possible without the material support of the Governments of Iran and Syria;
(8) calls on all nations, including Egypt, to take affirmative, transparent, verifiable steps to stop the flow of rockets and other terrorism-enabling materials (including human resources) to the Palestinian territories; and
(9) reaffirms the strong and unyielding friendship between the governments and the people of Israel and the United States.

And the drum beats louder towards war with Iran and Syria (number 7)....:(

While I would condemn the attacks, I would have voted no for that too. That bill has a lot of stuff in it that have nothing to do with the attacks or reality.

I understand those bills happen all the time. They happen to set a mood in congress. The mood is war, that is why I think its a war drum.

I do not think there is any war drum, those kinds of bills happen all the time in congress. It is not the first nor the last. It became something like prayers or rituals.

The sadder part is that why is our congress voting on it at all. I do not live in Israel and this has absolutly nothing to do with the United States of America. Thats how bad it is they all need to be kicked out.

because we are the self proclaimed rulers of the world.

I'll be damned if Ron Paul doesn't remind me of Jefferson Smith.

Hmm...so who's the Silver Knight, I wonder?

Who else thinks, besides me, that Paul voted against this because he doesn't think it's right for the US government to condemn attacks between 2 countries and we shouldn't be meddling with other country's affairs? :eek:

I wish a roll call response could be, "Not our Job".

I think Dr. Paul would be saying that a lot! :cool:
