Ron Paul's GA State Coordinator wins primary against 15 year incumbent

Charles Gregory, state coordinator of Georgia For Liberty (formerly Georgia for Ron Paul), defeated a fifteen-year incumbent for a seat in Georgia's House of Representatives in the July 31 Republican primary. As there is no Democratic opposition, winning the primary is tantamount to election. Charles will represent Georgia's 34th House district, when Georgia's legislature convenes in January.

In unofficial returns published on the Georgia Secretary of State's website, Gregory received 4,061 votes to opponent Judy Manning's 3,241.

Gregory said, "We worked hard, I’ve had a lot of inspired volunteers that are very passionate about small government and less taxes."

That was where they passed the motion that GA GOP couldn't endorse anyone who supported indefinite detention of American citizens without trial, before the party establishment remembered Romney had said he supported that, and they had to pull a fake manuever to brush the whole incident under the rug.

The campaign as of now was a failure. Now, if you can show us where the campaign donated to this candidate and perhaps ran ads for him, that's one thing, but if they didn't the credit goes to the candidate and his local supporters probably hitting the ground running and not stopping until the win.

Just got an email from YAL regarding this race^

last year's YAL National Convention attendee and former Georgia State Chair, Carter Kessler, won his GOP primary for the Georgia State House! Carter swept to victory, taking 68% of the vote against his establishment opposition. Way to go, Carter!

You cannot deny that the momentum that the campaign has built has helped liberty candidates make inroads and get elected. If Ron Paul hadn't of run in 2008, and 2012, how many liberty candidates do you think would have been elected, and would be winning right now? The campaign was not perfect, but what they have done has been beneficial to the movement, and to the country.

Actually, running against the guy that has been in office is a lot easier now. Just say, "Look what he has done. Debt. Debt. Debt. I'm the better choice.", that has nothing to do with the official campaign.

It's a critical point that is sadly lost on many people. We get so caught up going for the knockout blow by focusing on winning the Presidency, that we tend to forget that this country has been destroyed by incrementalism. We can restore the greatness of this country and constitutional governance by the same incremental approach; and what's better is that this strategy is working and we're already starting to see astonishing results. We are the future.

Chess by campaign most of us mean Ron's running for President. The rallies, the education aspect, the motivation of the grassroots. That is what got the ball rolling to excite people enough to get involved. By campaign I think you refer more to Benton and as you have taken ad nauseum every opportunity to voice your opinion about THAT campaign, you are probably right. Benton had nothing to do with this particular victory. I'm sure if Benton had just run more attack ads like you mentioned constantly.... But we will never know will we?
