Ron Paul's Biggest Flaw

I feel Ron Paul's biggest flaw is his harsh criticism against the Obama administration. Yes, it makes sense to us when Ron Paul calls Obama a fascist or a socialist on CNN, but when the majority of the viewers watch it (the Obama fanatics), there is no chance they understand where he is coming from. It may have worked when Ron Paul criticized Bush, but that's because everyone hates Bush. All it's doing now is attracting much of the religious right nut jobs (which does not look good for us), and it's turning off any Obama fanatics (which are the majority) to Ron Paul.

If this doesn't change, I guarantee it'll be our movement's fatal flaw.

He is just telling the truth consequences to his popularity be damned. He doesn't care about being popular, he just tells it like it is. Guess what though, people are already realizing (and this early on, unlike with Bush Jr) that Obama sucks. In a few more years Obama will be probably be hated as much as dubya.

I don't think sugar-coating the truth will help recruit principled people back into the GOP; nor do I think being politically correct today, will help win voters tomorrow, after Obama has collapsed.

In fact, I dare say that if we are too 'politically correct' today, then a year from now when Obama is revealed for the pro-establishment non-changing failure that he is; it will backfire, and they will be angrier at us for FAILING to sound the warning when we knew it was coming all along.

Better, I think, to just take the popularity hit NOW when it doesn't matter so much; so people will remember us in 2, or 4 years; and THEN we will take big gains off of our positions NOW.

Playing the game according to the enemy's rules of "civil discourse" is the road to defeat. Obama needs to be attacked for what he is. The moment RP tones down his message, he becomes just another useless form of opposition.

The main reason we all like Ron Paul is we can trust him whether we agree with him or not. He says what he says come hell or highwater. (Which comes pretty often in Galveston)

At one time Bush had a 80% aproval rating, RP didn't mince words then and he shouldn't now. Why should RP tread lightly on a president that is proving to be as bad as Bush or worse? Should RP be kind to Obama because the troops are out of Iraq Obama's deficits are smaller than Bush's? Or maybe because Gitmo is closed or there is less troops in the Stan's? Maybe it is because all Obama's appointees are up right tax paying citizens? You tell me which is it?
If all the Obama bots are still Obamabots in 4 or 8 years and hate RP because he stayed true to his convictions through R and D presidents we are F***** anyhow.

By the way did you vote for Obama not that I expect you to admit it?

The only way he could prevent that is by polarising the public, but in that case he will stil be hated by half the public.

Principle before public pretension! IMHO, RP is right and morally/philosophically consistent in criticizing B.O. FYI, you ought to read up on FDR-the failed God of the liberal left.

But a word of advise. When you have three posts under you belt and start a thread title about RP's biggist fault and don't attack Obama but it is fine to attack Bush you are bound to take some heat.

RP has been brilliant as a one man machine launching a movement against the media and corrupt political system. He's been bit soft imo on media attack dogs of neocons but maybe that's better leadership for longterm change.
