Ron Paul will lose New Hampshire if he doesn't start campaigning hard

We all know that Ron Paul could win New Hampshire, but the fact is he won't, unless he starts putting his campaign into overdrive.

There's only so much that the grassroots can do. Everybody on this board has contributed so much by way of money and time; it's time that Dr. Paul start putting forth more effort and start campaigning to win. It's admirable that he wants to still spend time being a Congressman and represent his district, but that won't win him this Presidency.

Everything that I've heard out of New Hampshire from Paul supporters shows that he is making some big mistakes there. His biggest mistake is that he isn't campaigning there enough. The voters of New Hampshire take their role as first primary in the nation very seriously. They expect to meet all the candidates. They expect that they will get to talk to them one on one. If Ron Paul doesn't move there this month and start putting some serious time into New Hampshire he will lose. Second or third place isn't going to cut it. He needs to win if he is going to get enough momentum to get the nomination. People need to see that he is a winner. Doing well in some states will not get him into the White House.

Read this letter from a supporter in New Hampshire if you haven't already:

It sums up everything that I've read from Paul supporters coming out of the state. I'm am getting really worried that all of our work will be for nothing if the official campaign doesn't step up and do their part. We need to all email them with our concerns.

That post was made the same day the account was created.

I doubt Dr. Paul isn't campaigning at superhuman capacity already.

Not saying it is disinfo, but make sure to keep your skepticism high and never believe anything on first glance

Looks like he is spending some time over in Iowa now... perhaps he will switch over to purely New Hampshire afterwards? Maybe they think they need to focus on getting poll numbers up in Iowa... I dunno.

Keith Murphy made his account specifically to send out this message. He's a real person. Give him a call at Murphy's Tap Room in Manchester. I've read the same concerns from other supporters in New Hampshire. This is not disinfo. If you follow politics, then you know that is how New Hampshire works. That's how John McCain won in 2000. It wasn't simply because he was a maverick. They expect to meet you face to face. This is why Ron Paul is stalling in the polls. He can only gain so much support from radio ads and mailers. He needs to put in the human touch.

I am so sad about this.

I have complained in several threads about the incompetence of the official campaign, trying to light a fire of complains that could eventually make them do something right.

Now, I just have lost all confidence in them. I will donate all I can to in the teaparty, and that's it. The rest of my money and efforts is going directly to the grassroots projects.

That HQ is sounding each time more and more like the government we are all complaining about. Spending in excess of 2.8 million dollars a month in operational costs alone. Having just this week gotten telephone lines. And being completely unable to come up with new ads, let alone good ones.

It is frustrating, because the last thing we need is another factor working against us.

I used to be angry. Now I'm just sad.

well at least he looks a lot better at this debate than the last one... once he see's a huge ass blimp he'll be 110%

this is pretty depressing news... worse of all, we the grassroots cant do anything about it... we can only do so much for this campaign

Take it easy, he's doing much better in the past couple weeks. He's made multiple trips to NH, SC, NH, and Iowa. They're doing much better.

Well if Keith were as connected online as most of us are, he would see all the great campaigning Ron is doing across the country. Yes, as supporters, we will always wish he could be around more and he will try, but, if you're looking for much sympathy in threads like this, you won't find it. I'm very put-off by the title of this thread which rudely implies/says Dr. Paul isn't campaigning hard already.

I think that some people don't want to hear this because it seems like bad news, but it is the truth. We need to be aware of what is at stake here. We all want Ron Paul to win, but I get the impression that campaign HQ is not taking this seriously enough. Running the same radio ads over and over again and some very lackluster commercials is not going to cut it.

All of us have realized for some time that the official campaign lacks imagination and creativity, so the grassroots has stepped up and tried to pick up the slack. We can not do this forever. We have sent Ron Paul millions and will be sending him millions more but all the money in the world won't matter if they do not spend it wisely. Running a frugal campaign is great, but theirs is downright anemic. They need to win this. There is no losing in New Hampshire.

We've sent Ron Paul millions and will be sending him millions more on the 16th, but it doesn't matter if we raise 100 million, it won't win Ron Paul the Presidency if they don't spend the money wisely. Running the same radio ads over and over again and showing a few poorly made tv commercials is not spending our money wisely.

2.8 million !?!?!?!?!? WOWOW where do you get this number from? thats so much money!

I sadly have to agree

I'm not trying to whine and complain here-- just hoping someone from the campaign is listening. It is inexplicable to me that RP has not campaigned in person far more extensively in Iowa and NH. History has shown that you cannot do well in either of those places unless you spend lots of time campaigning in person. TV and radio ads have only minimal effectiveness. Ask Howard Dean who spent $15 Million in Iowa. I have no idea what the campaign in thinking. Literally every other campaign that is serious about either of those states has spent a lot of days campaigning in person in each. The other candidates may have bad policies, but they are not all bad politicians. For RP to be worrying about his district, or even votes in congress right now is, I am sad to say, misplaced priorities.

To his credit RP has set up a good infrastructure in follow-on states like South Carolina and Nevada so that he can build on Iowa and NH momentum. That is a smart move and the campaign deserves credit. But he won't have any momentum to build on unless he parks himself in Iowa and NH for the rest of this campaign and doesn't leave. When I see events in SC and Nevada on his schedule right now, I want to throw something at the computer.

Campaign, please look at electoral history-- we are pursuing a losing strategy and wasting a ton of volunteer effort right now- Listen to Murphy-- He knows New Hampshire-- Many others have said the same thing. We need to get Dr. Paul to Iowa and NH and keep him there until primary/caucus day.

Ditto!!!!

DITTO!!!

When's the Campaign going into OVERDRIVE?

2.8 million !?!?!?!?!? WOWOW where do you get this number from? thats so much money!

This campaign needs to go into overdrive, but I have noticed the duties of CONGRESS?

FYI, Did you know that; McCain, Obama, RODHAM-CLINTON, ETC, have been missing all their votes on the bills while campaigning? We don't want to use that fault against RP. He can call them on it in the DEBATES!

EMAIL/PHONE the CAMPAIGN STAFF!

Get them moving!
