I wanted to announce to everyone that Ron Paul is coming to speak here in Louisville, KY on Saturday, May 17th 2008. Yes, this a major speech about the continuation of our movement and coming in right before the May 20thR epublican primary. The event is being planned to start around 1 PM, and Congressman Paul to speak btwn. 2-3 PM. A location for the event is not set, but will be setup soon. If you would like to volunteer or have extra materials to donate, please contact Chris Hall on this meetup or contact State Coordinator John Riley in Spencer County. Please spread the word to your fellow Meetup group members, fellow supporters, and friends who are interested in a great speech. I look forward to seeing you all at the Ron Paul event coming up this May!!! Please consider this the official post to add your thoughts, ideas, suggestions, or questions about the speech or events surrounding it.

Interesting...The NRA is also having a large banquet at the same place on the same day. Glen Beck, Laura Ingraham, Micheal Savage, Newt Gingrich, John Bolton, George Will, Ollie North, etc. will also be there. Maybe we should make sure to be close to this event.:D

[SIZE=-1] Dear Fellow NRA Member,
It is my great pleasure to invite you to join me and NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris Cox for an extraordinary election year event: NRA's Celebration of American Values Banquet on Saturday, May 17th.

Reserve Your Seats Today!

Our keynote speaker for the evening is talk-show host and author Glenn Beck, whose newest book, An Inconvenient Book, is at the top of bestseller lists across America at this very moment.

I'm pleased to include Glenn in this honor roll of pro-Second Amendment luminaries because for years, the anti-gun media elite at CNN have attacked the Second Amendment, NRA and the values we cherish. But with Glenn, we have a staunch ally, telling the truth about our guns, our freedoms and us-right on CNN, right at prime time! What he says about you and me is a breath of fresh air amidst the stench of the media's anti-gun propaganda:
"I firmly believe in responsible gun ownership. The founding fathers showed great wisdom and foresight in guaranteeing that "we the people" have the right to arm ourselves. So when I was given a chance to speak at NRA's Celebration of American Values Annual Banquet, I jumped at the chance."

As a banquet attendee, you'll also have a chance to meet Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal who will receive NRA's Harlon B. Carter award for service to the Second Amendment. As a former Congressman, Governor Jindal was the architect of national legislation that prohibits local officials from confiscating guns from law-abiding citizens in times of national emergency.

Seats at our 2008 NRA Celebration of American Values Banquet are selling out quickly, so be sure to order your tickets today.

With our Second Amendment rights on the line in the 2008 elections, it's critically important that leading NRA members like you be on hand to send a message to politicians in every corner of the country that we're ready and able to defeat gun-banners in this election.
Your personal presence in Louisville will help send that message loud and clear.
That's why I'm counting on you to join me and other leading NRA members at our
our Celebration of American Values Banquet.
To order your V.I.P. tickets call 1-877-672-7632 or click here.

If you can't join us in Louisville for these important events, then please answer freedom's call by upgrading your NRA membership today.

As a special thank you for upgrading your membership, you'll receive an historic commemorative that celebrates the many generations of NRA heroes who have fought for freedom since the founding of our Association in 1871.

Your limited edition, numbered commemorative features specially minted challenge coins, and an authentic .58 "Minie Ball," used in the era of NRA's founding and retrieved from a Civil War encampment.
I have the first of these special numbered commemoratives here on my office wall. (An unnumbered version will soon be offered in our NRA catalog for $250.)
And I hope that you will also display this magnificent keepsake to honor your proud place in the long line of NRA patriots who have come before us, and those who must follow in our footsteps if freedom is to survive.
Whether or not you choose to upgrade your membership and help NRA at this critical time, please be sure to reserve your tickets today for NRA's Celebration of American Values Leadership Forum and Annual Banquet.
Clearly this is the most important election of our lifetime.
This year, you and I have an awesome responsibility to make our voices heard, shape the debate, reach out to our fellow American gun owners and lead the fight for freedom.
Your participation in the NRA this year at the highest levels-by attending our Celebration of American Values Banquet in Louisville, and by taking this opportunity to upgrade your membership--can help make and change history in the coming months.
Thank you for your friendship and support of NRA. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours in Liberty,

The website http://www.rpshindig.com/ confirms that the rally will be held on March 17th in Louisville. According to the website, no site has been selected yet to host the event.

If anyone has anymore information on this, I would love to hear it!

Thanks!

Received this update yesterday:

Michael,

Ron Paul will be bringing his message of freedom, peace, and prosperity to Kentucky on May 16th and 17th for two Freedom Rallies! This is your chance to come and personally meet Dr. Paul, as well as to have him sign your copy of his latest book, The Revolution: A Manifesto.

The first rally will be taking place on May 16 at the Bowling Green High School Basketball Arena at 1801 Rockingham Lane, Bowling Green, KY 42104. The rally starts at 2:00 pm CT.

On Saturday, May 17th, Dr. Paul will be holding a Freedom Rally at the Louisville Palace, located at 625 S. Fourth St., Louisville KY 40202. The rally will start at 1:00 pm ET, and last until 4:00 pm.

Come hear Dr. Paul as he lays out clear solutions to the challenges our country is facing, and be sure to bring any friends or family members that may not be familiar with his message. Dr. Paul's Freedom Rallies typically attract several hundred people, so get there early! We look forward to seeing you there.

This will be a great event.

Go to bed NOW so you'll be good & rested and ready to be loud & proud tomorrow.

My buddy and I took a 3 hour trip from Ashland, KY to visit this entralling event! We even got our books sign and shook hands with Ron Paul. It was amazing to see all of his supporters in the auditorium and the energy within was so intense when Dr. Paul was speaking, I'll never forget that day.

Agreed. I drove down from Cincinnati. The event was a lot of fun and the supports were very excited. I did not get the chance to get my book signed, but I did get to shake Dr. Paul's hand!

I especially liked when Dr. Paul was presented with the 'champion of the constitution' Louisville Slugger Bat.

Anybody know if there is a YouTube of this rally?
