[h=1]Ron Paul Will Attend Rand's Presidential Campaign Launch[/h]
LOUISVILLE—Former Texas Congressman Ron Paul will attend Tuesday's expected launch of Kentucky Senator Rand Paul's presidential bid. Reached on Monday, Ron Paul's Texas office confirmed that he was heading to Louisville for the event after his son's aides scored him a charter flight that would let him keep a long-scheduled commitment in Minneapolis.

For most political campaigns, "will the candidate's father show up" wouldn't be much of a question. In Rand Paul's successful 2010 campaign for Senate, it wasn't a question at all. In June 2009, Ron Paul's congressional campaign sent an e-mail to donors credited to the man himself, asking members of the "liberty movement" to back his son.

"During the Presidential election he traveled to ten states giving speeches for me," wrote Ron Paul. "He appeared on hundreds of radio programs for me. I am grateful for his contribution

and very proud of the thoughtful, principled man Rand has become. So, it is with great enthusiasm that I endorse my son Rand's venture into electoral politics."

I hate to say it, but I wish he wouldn't. Fox already jumping on "Rand an isolationist like his Dad" theory but Rand is changing his position now because he has too in order to win.

To be smart about this, if Ron goes he needs to give a speech that he and Rand don't agree on a number of things; especially as it relates to foreign policy. But one thing they do agree on is that Rand will make one heck of a great President. Hey we need to win this sucker and it will take "politics" to do so.

No, Ron helps Rand. Everyone knows he's his dad, him not showing up would look like a split of the movement. Rand has defined himself fine while being Ron Paul's son. Go Ron Paul!
Unite the base! Fire us up! Lets get this party going! :D

Are you kidding me? All Rand has to do is hug his dad and there won't be a dry eye in the building! It will be great for tv and the movement.

The cats in the cradle and the silver spoon little blue and the man in the moon. That song came to mind while reading this.

Why shouldn't his dad be there? The media is going to run that bull about him being isolationist either way.

He owe's a whole lot to his dad for teaching him the philosophy he follows and it's arguable that he is where he is today because of what legacy his dad built.

Any way I can catch this on the internet? Time? It's spring break so I can stay up late...or get up early tomorrow.
Is Carol going too?

Really??? Some of you are questioning why Rand's DAD will be there when he announces he's running for president? I mean what other days shouldn't he show up for? Wedding? Baptism? Graduation?

At the end of the day Ron is Rand's father and he has every reason to be there to give his son a hug and wish him his best now that he's officially running for president.
