Here's what I've seen so far about Fred.

The 'fred followers' have been trying to do the same thing as the Ron Paul people. Build up hype and present arguments about why Fred is the best.

I've read some of these. From the looks of it, there's no way they'll ever compete.

For example, one article about 'Dems vs Fred'. It said that Edwards was Fred's biggest challenger, because he was a man who wasn't colored.

Please. It's this kind of thing that always sickens me with politicians. They're so out of touch with humanity, and yet are trying to lead it.

I don't think Ron has any real competition ... Fred or not.

I am for Ron Paul 100%, but..............

The finals will be Ron Paul vs Thomson and I have the feeling that Thompson will be the winner for the following reasons.......

1= Thomson is for the war in Iraq

2= Thomson went (or is going) to the state of Israel to whow his "respects" and
get his marching orders.

How can Ron Paul win?.......that there are so many votes in his names that the power to be wont be able to hide it or manipulate it........and if they do?, then.....

"When a government is not for its people it is then the right of the people to take over the government for the people are the government"... Ponce

Ron Paul in 2008

Read that our friend Thompson did not author even ONE bill in his 8 years of Congress.

Just sits and votes.....

Is CFR member.

Thats correct. A do nothing Senator will most likely end up a do nothing President.

“We have, you know-if you include state taxes-the highest corporate tax rate in the world. That makes us less competitive. All those things have to be looked at. And all those-especially as far as the corporate tax rate is concerned, need to be clearly reduced.” -Fred Thompson.

The pdf shows that 85 of the top corporations paid no taxes. Just how is he going to reduce zero?

What a maroon..Flaw and Odor star aye?? heh..

I don't get the family values argument. Is Fred Thompson going to make my mom take better care of me and have dinner ready when my dad gets home from work?

Fred scares me because of the money he generates against those who are debating between Paul and Thompson. Most people have seen his face, his commanding voice, the exposure on Fox and think he is more relevant. He is a worry.

Nonetheless we should not lose hope. Paul in 08'!!!

Fred may be against free speech, but Fox news will make him a hero for it. As crazy as it seems watch how they spin it.

I don't think he is a threat. In fact I think he is a blessing in disguise.

Rudy McRomney and Thompson are all fighting for the same public, the uninformed voter. That 25% of Americans who still think we should stay in Iraq. So in fact he will pull votes away from Rudy and the gang, thus allowing Ron to get the the added advantage in getting the nomination.

Lets say there is 1000 people in the country
-500 of them don't vote(this is where RP gets some support)
-200 are democrats(RP has some support here)
-100 are independents(RP has some support here too)
-200 are Republicans

In the primaries, only like 25% of people vote, so this leaves 50 people:
Out of those:
-10 Conservatives who will vote for RP
-20 Neo-Cons
-20 Sheep who vote for who the "winner"

Out of those 40: 10 will vote for Rudy, 10 will vote for Romney, 10 will vote for McCain, 10 will vote for Thompson.

So it would seem that there is a tie, but you remember that 500+200+100? A significant portion of those people will vote for Ron Paul, and will allow him to get to the top

Fred Thompson and Angelina Jolie

Mrs. Jolie/Pitt just joined the CFR. Maybe she'll be FT's running mate!!

Conservatives worshipping at the Cult of Personality...

Here's Fred's score from Ontheissues.org http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/Fred_Thompson.htm

He's scored as moderate conservative; i.e., a pro-choice version of John Mccain.

Now Thompson has flipped-flopped on abortion, he's talking tough on immigration, he's advocating war against iran...

From this article on National Review http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=NjhkYzZiNTAxZjAyZTNjNzkxNjA2ZTNmNDBhNjhlYWU= , it looks like his solution to the illegal immigration problem is to declare war on Mexico.

I guess there is a conservative wing that would like to fighting simultaneous wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, and Mexico, but most Americans have had up to here with that crap. He would have no chance. In fact, he got the nomination, I would cross over and vote Democratic in the general election(and I never have voted for a democrat), even if were Hillary Clinton.
