And it's not good folks. 90% of it is negative and in regards to the "fence" comment.

I'm so bummed right now. This is bad.

I usually can follow Ron's arguments, but have no clue what he was trying to say there.

I thought it was pretty obvious. A fence used to keep people out can be used to keep you in. So many people are afraid of Obama having so much power. Ask them what he our a future administration could do with a fence that controlled our citizens movements.

Yeah the "Did Ron Paul" phrase is trending and its all really bad. I think his statements really backfired badly. Twitter is running wild with anti Ron Paul crap so if your on twitter try and flood it with pro Paul stuff

I've been to East Berlin. That fence was to keep people in. Let's not forget.

I liked Ron Paul's answer on the fence but it was the wrong answer for the audience, even I was like...why would he say this to the American people? they don't understand personal liberties and can NEVER imagine a scenario where they would have to 'leave' America.

dammit..

Exactly, and I can't believe these people ("New Ron Paul" supporters) on the forum need to have an open mind, and do a little research here. It's not a conspiracy theory, not any more of a conspiracy than what the Fed does.

Just as usual Ron Paul is ahead of the curb.

He lost my entire family, and all of my friends on that one comment. As well as myself. About a dozen votes. But I am still in for the message, just not the messenger at this point.

You're obviously a troll because there is no chance that comment will get an uniform response from such a large group of people. Thanks for taking money from Perry/Romney or whoever is paying you.

Then you were never a real supporter. I'm sorry that him pointing out that the police state always starts out as a weapon against our "enemies", and is inevitably turned into a weapon against the citizenry. The border fence idea is simply a convenient way to illustrate this reality.

Exactly.

Well please leave then. This forum is in campaign mode and devoted to getting Ron Paul elected. If you're here just for the message then leave and come back after the election. Bye :)

Lmao, whatever, dude.

Damn, people really are stupid. I guess they forget about the Berlin Wall. Fighting for freedom does cause many headaches.

The way I interpreted it he was trying to make a point that issuing ID cards to fight illegal immigration would mean that all citizens would also have to carry cards, or something, but then somehow this fence thing came out at the end. Is there a transcript somewhere?

I'm in Arizona, I've heard Barry Hess and David Nolan (before he passed away) use that fence argument many times. Makes perfect sense to me but that may be just because I've heard it so many times.

I'd like to hear what he was really trying to say. I know he gets flustered up there. I know he mentioned something about not being able to send money out. Surely he wasn't saying the fence would keep us from physically escaping the country??

First, I donated to this campaign, look at my previous threads. This is the first campaign I have donated to. Secondly, I have about 7 family members sitting around the TV. And the rest? My friends are on Twitter, and Facebook, and they all think he is nuts. I don't think he is nuts, but I don't think he has a chance now.

You folks are the idiots here. He just lost the election. You can put on your tin foil hats, and sing the banana splits songs all you want to, it isn't going to make him president now. This is just the hard facts. You need my vote. You need their vote. Unless you think you can win the election without the general populace? Guess what, that's a pretty good cross section of what is going on.

I will wait for Rand.

Guys, let's face facts. He bombed. Terribly. Not everyone who thinks so hates Ron Paul. I'd do anything to get him elected, but this debate was worse than any hit piece Perry could have come up with.

Ron Paul better prep for the next one!
