Ron Paul ToolBar

I hate being a skeptic but has some computer savvy person looked at the code? We would be a ripe target for a scam with all the money we donate. I'm NOT saying this is and I really like the idea but we need to be careful as many of us use our computers to donate. Again, I'm not saying anything bad about this project. Period. Just asking for someone to really look at it carefully. I'l jump in, in a heart beat if I'm sure it's safe. Thank you.

There's a box on the left where you can cast your vote.

You seem very suspicious to me with only 8 posts. Please assure us that what YOU are saying is true... give us proof buddy. If you don't, I will personally make sure no one installs this toolbar and those that have installed it, uninstalls it.

Why I believe in this!

I've voiced some security concerns about this addon. I have now installed and scanned this program with Norton 360, Ad-Aware, Spybot and SuperAntiSpyware. I updated all those programs before the scans. Good deal! :D

Signed up , i think this is the only way to ensure adequate funding for blimp and other projects!

Is there anyway to just make it so the toolbar money collected goes to a specific cause instead of putting it into a "general" fund?

i.e. - One grassroots cause gets 100 people to use the toolbar and the money earned goes to that specific cause.

I was seriously interested in this because it's very hard to trust some anonymous person on the web to handle this much money without pocketing it.

I don't think it would be possible to divide the revenue up into an unlimited number of possible grassroots projects that each installer could choose.
As far as the "anonymous person on the web" I've worked locally with Chris Lawton in SC and I trust him completely with this project.
Back when we set up the Spam Spartanburg Food Drive, it was Chris who lent use of his pickup and BJs membership and helped us buy the food that day. He has been doing a lot of grassroots work for Ron Paul for many months now and this is his latest project.

I made a posting about this on the Ron Paul list, but forgot to post
something on this list. I'd like to warn everyone to use some caution
when downloading anything on to your machine from an unknown source.

I just did a WhoIs search for who or what organization is behind this
website and it appears to me that it's not the normal info that one
usually finds when one is looking to see who has sponsored or set up a
web site. Normally, if you do a WhoIs search for a website, the info
comes back with the owner of the company or if it's a large company, a
contact. If it's a paper, you'd come back usually with the editor, if
it's just an individual, you'd come back with their name. Something
doesn't look right to me with this toolbar WhoIs search.

The info that comes back is that it's owned by a Meg Browning and the
email contact is [email protected]. (This email is associated
with 129 other domains) I've never heard of a Meg Browning, so I did a
search. It appears that a Meg Browning is some kind of singer, but then
again, maybe it's a person with the same name. Whatever the case,
something doesn't smell right to me so I'd use caution before installing
something like this to your system.

Scam artists may be wanting to cash in on Ron Paul's popularity, I don't
know if this is legit or not... better to be safe than sorry.

I may be "one in a million", but the Toolbar boogered up my Firefox
something awful! The browser froze up evertime I tried to use it. And,
when you try to uninstall it, you get "offers" for other toolbars,
instead of just deleting it.

Again, I may be unique, I don't know. But this isn't my cup of tea.

This is such an easy, safe way to help the campaign. Not to mention that it's FREE. I just don't get why people aren't flocking to this in droves.
