Ron Paul to run in 2012?

Possible scenario...Ron Paul, Gary Johnson, Mark Sanford, Huckabee, Palin, Romney, Jindal all run. Early on the first three campaign like any candidate would while not stepping on each other's toes. If any of them don't get enough support...they drop out and endorse the stronger of the remaining two...then the other drops out right before Super Tuesday endorsing the final of the three.

Perhaps Ron Paul will build enough support to endorse his successor after his successor proves himself.

Ugh? Ugh.

No splitting votes between Sanford, Johnson and Paul. That spells out defeat.

I think Palin would win that line up, the way things are right now. This bitch has got to be discredited early on to prevent her from running, or gaining any traction if she does run.

We need that porno to come out! Let's up the offer... money bomb to raise the pay-out for making a porno to $20 million! Even if it doesn't prevent her from running, it's kind of an end-in-itself...

I got damn tired of it too... it was used to discredit him.
Very true. But whining about it to the media is unprofessional and gives Ron a bad face. Anyone with a single college course on media relations could tell you that.

if you want to insult jesse benton use something that actually is worthy of criticism.
I'm not insulting him, I am just pointing out an observation. And his inability to be competent in his job isn't an insult as you have suggested, it's a criticism.

I kinda hope he doesn't run, I hope someone who is a superior politician/manager takes his place but has the same views we do. I don't think Paul can win in this environment, no matter what. His age, the way he runs a campaign, I don't think he could win allout.

Wow, I thought a 2012 run was already ruled out.
I gotta tell ya'll, as hard as I worked for 2008, it would be x 5 for 2012. I mean, in 2007 I'm an anarchist, and now I'm a f***ing republican delegate!

WOW

If he ran...,,,,idk what to say, i cant get my head around it.

It will be on. I will pour my heart and soul into it

I mean, if you think last time was crazy, magnify that by a lot.

So many people now know him, agree with him, and he will have a nice jumpstart + OUR CRAZY a$$ MONEY BOMBS.

"One thing we learned is that those voters in New Hampshire and Iowa expect, to see their candidates early and often."

There would be alot of opportunities to get out in the summer of 2011 in Iowa . . .
but he'd effectively have to neglect his Congress responsibilities
unlike all the ex-mayors, ex-Governors, and ex-Senators that make up the GOP collection of candidates.

I believe he is in much better health than McCain - so the chronological age should not be all that important.

I already have $4600 in savings for me and my wife if he ever announces it!
Now I need to save up for airline tickets to Iowa for 2 =)
I pledge everything I have for another shot at changing this country for my 2 kids.

This was without question the achilles heel of RP2008.

Ron Paul running in 2012?.......Oh, man.........just when I thought I was starting to get my life back........

Sign me up!!

lets do it!

I'll be financially able to chip in about 5000 - 6000 for Pauls next run, compared to about $600 last time around. I think a lot of other people will be in the same position. If we start early, we can do this!

I'm all for Dr. Paul running again in 2012 but won't he be 77 years old? The media gave
Mccain crap for being 72. If Dr. Paul doesn't run, I hope he could convince his son Rand
to run in his place.

I love Ron Paul but the people in his campaign have/had no clue when it comes to national elections or what it takes to win Iowa or New Hampshire and it will be the same people who failed us last time, plus the age factor

I am hopeful Johnson can prove to be a worthy candidate and find a good campaign manager, he won two terms as a governor right? so he must know what it takes, i'm intrigued to see how he'd do...

I am worried about RP's age. He definitely seems to be healthy and kicking, but the media will give him so much crap about it. I think a better idea would be Ron running as the VP to someone like Johnson. This would give us the passion to fight like we did last year (x 10!), plus we would have less media crap to deal with.

The first primary is the "Money Primary", which is run in 2011. For those worried about splitting the Liberty vote, that should pare the field down to only one Liberty candidate.

The money primaries start in next month, which is the official beginning of the 2012 Presidential cycle.

I do not believe that Paul will make another run in 2012. If he does, though, it would be amazing. I don't think he would win (I would bet against it), but I do think there's a chance he would do much better than this year.

He would have to attack the age issue, hard and often. He needs to start every single campaign stop by sprinting onto the stage, delivering a baby, and doing 500 pushups. :)
