Ron Paul to play himself in J. Neil Schulman's film adaptation of Alongside Night

The trailer sucks. Will watch anyway.
I think its interesting that both Tim Russ and Garret Wang are both in this movie.

I'm actually pretty excited about this in spite of the trailer.

Whoa, that was some bad acting there, almost laughable, and it looked like it was shot on a home video camera. Yep, I'd definitely say straight to DVD. What a shame. I do wonder if Ron Paul is actually in it though, or if it's just a video clip of him.

(Yes, I'm a female geek) I hate to say it but, this looks more like a HS student's production from a digital camcorder! It will probably go straight to dvd. Who knows? It may eventually become a cult classic. But I applaud their efforts.

I have to agree with you, libertygrl. I found the trailer to be painful to watch, even though I was excited to see two Voyager alumni were on board in addition to Sorbo and Busey.

I guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope it turns out to be better than it appears at first glance.

Aw hell, this looks bad..."Innocence of Muslims" bad. :( Which is such a shame, because the novel is great.

Alright ...
The owner of Wind Dancer films (http://www.winddancer.com/) is the brother of my parent's friend/neighbor. I think that if we sent in a good script to the guy he would consider producing it. (He sends his brother pre-releases sometimes to get his opinion on them)

This plot is actually extremely interesting, I would think, to people outside the liberty movement as well.

I would love to see a film like this that stayed as mainstream as it could, keep it real and maybe even intertwine some 'inspired by true story' material and say away from conspiracy stuff. I think it could be a pretty big box office hit.

I would prefer a movie. Wind Dancer would probably prefer a TV series.

-- is this even worth exploring? I'm not a writer - I'm just saying I can get a good script into the right hands that will actually consider producing it.

connections are usually the hard part. I hope we have someone who can fit the need!
