Ron Paul to Make Appearance on GOP Convention Floor Today at 1:45PM

Don't be too hard on OK, they have some of the strictest statutory binding in the country

I just got a text from a friend on the floor and Dr. Paul is there now. People are chanting: "LET HIM SPEAK!"

OK, this is a PURPLE lei, not a pink one -- from a Hawaii delegate, I presume. Don't like that Ron isn't in a suit coat. Doesn't look ready to go on stage. Presumably someone is holding his coat:

The lei would conveniently hide the two inch gap his ill fitting suits make behind his neck.

Go Ron Paul!

He said "he had to, that's why he's here" (to nominate Romney). Almost verbatim out of his mouth. This was an OK delegate, others were talking about a MA delegate but I didn't see any interview other than the OK one all the way to Babs Bush speech from the past.

The fellow being talked about here isn't from OK. He's from Massachusetts, and his name is Aaron McKeon. It was displayed on the C-SPAN screen, and is given in the article snippet below (sorry about the lack of attribution - I lost the original article but had this on my clipboard):

"But on the floor of the Forum, there were other distractions afoot, as a rump movement of Ron Paul supporters circulated among delegates, many expressing frustration of the perceived mistreatment of their libertarian-leaning flank by a Republican establishment seeking to flatten any and all opposition to Romney.

At issue are procedural “shenanigans” that saw the Paul campaign stripped of many of its Maine delegates, said Aaron McKeon, 29, a Massachusetts delegate whose sympathies lie with Paul.

“If they welcomed us, it would have been seen as a real change of dialogue,” he said. “Instead, the party basically stole votes for Romney. And you don’t steal votes — you earn them.”

The unrest in the Paul camp raises the possibility that Romney’s next three days won’t pass with unbroken Republican unanimity. But McKeon, for one, is ready to play nice. For now.

“The fact is that the way the process unfolded in Massachusetts, I am a bound delegate for Romney. I will do my duty and vote for him. That’s my responsibility to voters back home.

“But in November? All bets are off. Don’t forget there’s a third name on the ballot — (Libertarian candidate) Gary Johnson. After what happened here, I’m seriously considering it.”
