Ron Paul to Appear on "The View"

The only problem I forsee is the show's liberal stance in regards to abortion. While Paul doesn't fit the traditional "Pro-Life" label he's definitely repulsed by abortion. I've been saying that he needs to label himself differently and say he's "Pro-Constitution". He's not going to support the federal goverment telling every state and city that abortion is legal, but unlike Pro-choicers, he's not going to support the federal government telling every state and city that it's illegal. He wants to heal the divide between liberal and conservative states, and let the people within those respective regions choose. This is what the Constitution and federalism dictates. In summary, Paul, just say you're neither "pro-life" nor "pro-choice", but "pro-constitution", and you'll be a hit because they love your other stances.

He came across as very moderate on the Adam Curry interview; he never left his principles, but he explained it in a way that was less threatening to those who may have been raped or abused incestually.

Plus, I think a seasoned OB/GYN is capable of dealing with a room full of women. :)

Great news. Let us know when the details come out. This is a great chance to get some attention!

Ron Paul should play the audience and talk up his work as a doctor. They will eat it up. I am talking baby stories and cute stuff.

I am serious.

This will play very well with the target audience of this show.

Wouldn't matter if Hasselback was there, anyway. I'm sure Ron Paul is well able to handle a confused pregnant woman.

Is there a date for his appearance? I'm going to tell my grandma.

Great news....I had written the Paul campaign, via an email on his House of Representatives site, letting him know that The View crowd was complaining that there were no Presidential candidates wanting to come on the show. I didn't know how else to contact him. I told him it's free advertising and a somewhat popular show that Fox News Channel monitors.

(not saying I'm responsible, but we all are trying to do our best to get Paul elected!)

Fed Up

What's sad is that I had called in to the campaign back in May when they were talking about what Ron Paul had said in the May 15th debate where he clashed with Giuliani. So I phoned in my little suggestion and yet apparently they sat on their butts for 5 months and only now are getting him on. It was pretty clear that it wouldn't have been very easy to set up for him going onto the show during May considering they spoke about his comments for a good 15 minutes on the show.

Bleh, I feel like whenever we phone in our suggestions never make it to the people they need to get to. Oh well it's great that we are getting him on now but this sort of stuff should have happened months ago.

Great! I just don't know how much an impact he can have on people who think the world is flat.

Pfffft. It's not like he can call a show and get on it. He has to be invited. OTherwise everybody starting a show business career would be on every talk show you see.

He was polling much lower then, and they probably had other guests available that they felt would be more of an appeal to their demographic. Women aren't into politics as much as men.

I do wish Elizabeth was going to be there.

Rosie O'Donnell is a truther - does anybody remember that? I never thought I'd say this, but too bad she's gone.

It's fine if they do, because he has no "stormfront issue". He didn't approach them, nor does he advocate their cause. His whole career has been dedicated to preserving the rights of the individual and against collectivism, including racism. He can't control who donates to his campaign. I mean, geez, what is he supposed to do? Sort through every donation and judge it for "worthiness"?

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but just because someone lobs out an accusation, does not make it true.

I'm a big supporter of free speech. The other side would label it "hate speech" and make it illegal. I personally find that concept far more dangerous to the American way of life. But then again, it's that :live and let live" tendencies of libertarian minded folks that keep them from asserting and/or assuming power. I mean, why would we want power? We just want people to be free to do pretty much what they want as long as they're not hurting anybody else.

Did you see that the guy (his name escapes me right now) who donated also endorsed Bush in 2002? The neocons didn't rant about that.....

Maybe RP can go on live, and then right in the middle of Elizabeth repeating some neocon talking point. She goes into labor and RP saves the day. :)

I saw it on a blog post last night, so then I googled it. I still can't remember the guy's name, or I would just give you links. :)

On Bill Maher's show, Joy Behar called all Republicans pussies for not wanting to do The View. Let's see if she apologizes.
