Ron Paul talks Hemp, Environmental Regulation in North Dakota

if hemp were legal. you could end the dea drug war on marijuana. If farmers were growing hemp .It would be impossible to grow good marijuana outdoors since the male pollen would turn good marijuana into arkansas ditch weed. burger king is hiring for those dea folks! Putting the flyovers by dea out of a job. hemp should be legal. Anyone opposing hemp legalization should have their degree's revoked and declared a felon so they could not vote!

Just to introduce something fhere (not negative): the harvesting of hemp for paper on a large scale has problems. There was/is an interest in using bagasse (the left-over fiber after processing sugar cane) into paper. The problem was that in the harvesting, a lot of sand gets taken up. This wears out the machines used to process it into paper. I thought that problem could be overcome by growing it hydroponically, but don't know how that would be feasible on a large scale.

minimal problems. hardware is here now plus hemp or marijuana crops are the best for soils and adding nutrients back into the ground! the plus sides out way any negatives basically dupont would be out of business! almost everything in your house can be made from hemp including plastics! side note for folks farmers in ww2 were fined for not growing hemp!

"In the 1930s, people were very naive; even to the point of ignorance. The masses were like sheep waiting to be led by the few in power. They did not challenge authority. If the news was in print or on the radio, they believed it had to be true. They told their children and their children grew up to be the parents of the baby-boomers."

Note the above. Hmmmm.

Wow, this just hurts my brain. Considering I had no idea all the benefits of hemp until I read this thread, just shows how much they try and suppress stuff like this. All this time I thought it was used for just string you can make necklaces with, or hemp lotion, but actual fuel to run vehicles, plastics and a whole bunch of other shit? Crazy. To think most people will die not even knowing about things like this is sad.

Yeah humans have progress more than ever in just the past 100 years, but imagine how much further along we would be if big corps and the elite didn't suppress certain advancements for the own gain...

Not to menton an acre of hemp can produce 4x the amount of paper as an acre of trees....and it grows way faster!

I think I read somewhere that hemp can produce up to 100x the amount of paper that wood can per acre.
Ron has to bring this up in Washington...very strong environmental movement there and this would be an effective message.

i think hemp being illegal is a crime against the earth and humanity. I think cutting down trees is very bad for our air. $#%^mf78**&#!@$

Simply put, hemp, marijuana's non-psychoactive cousin, is the most versatile plant on the planet. Almost 30,0000 different products (from fabric to car bodies, plastic to dynamite) can be made from hemp. Hemp is the best known source for ethanol. Hemp seeds are also the most nutritionally complete foodsource on the planet, containing all the essential amino acids and fatty acids, plus protein to carb ratio, necessary for healthy living. Hemp also requires no irrigation, pesticides, or fertilizer to grow.

Despite all of the above and thousands more applications, hemp remains illegal to grow in the United Stares. This is actually very ironic, considering America's long history with hemp. The Declaration of Independence was written on hemp, the first U.S. flag was made out of hemp, and Thomas Jefferson and George Washington both owned and operated prosperous hemp farms.
The United States government's current stance on hemp is destructive to our environment, stifling huge economic potential, and supporting international hemp industries instead of our own. These counterproductive policies are based on ignorance and fear, not fact.
