Ron Paul supporters take control of Clark County GOP!

The county convention was awesome. Every Ron Paul supporter I spoke with is onward to State. We Smoked the executive board and took every position. Make sure to continue the fight, this is long from over.

Elected every candidate running. I'm not sure if to interpret that as controlling the whole thing.

Great day guys. Finally something to smile about after quite a few down days lately. This was my first go as a delegate and at the convention. I have to say many RP people are very knowledgable about the process. As we all learn more this will only get better. My faith is restored. If you all could only have heard the cheers for RP. They could only have been louder if the Dr. walked out on stage himself.

Faith restored. Let's get back to work. We can do this!

There were two elections:

1. 14 County GOP Executive Board positions
2. Around 1,900 Delegates to the State Convention

We won all 14 Executive Board positions, which is 2/3 of the entire County GOP Executive Board, and about 1,300 people nominated themselves to be delegates to the State Convention, which means anyone who was nominated becomes a delegate.

From article
Gibbs said he wasn't too concerned by Paul supporters getting elected Saturday to all 14 executive board seats open. As chairman of the county party, he's one of seven official executive board members serving two-year terms. Those seven seats on the 21-member board weren't up for election Saturday.

"They showed up and they voted. That's why you have an election," Gibbs said. "The whole point is to get Republicans elected. That's my entire focus."

More than 3,000 Republicans attended the county GOP convention at the Orleans hotel-casino.

Any idea how many delegates to the state convention we won? If we win the majority, does that mean we can in theory take all Nevada national delegates?

If there is a majority, they can try to change the rules and unbind the delegates again, and maybe they shut it down again.

Had a great time today. After the 14 e-board members walked on stage we were all chanting "Ron Paul! Ron Paul!" it was a beautiful thing.

Very great news. Now lets try to do this in as many states as we can. Also NV has 28 delegates so does this new mean we took control of all 28? And they are all Paul people who will vote for Paul on the 2nd or 3rd vote?

This was just the county convention. 1300 delegates are being sent to the State Convention in Reno, NV in May. Of those 1300 State delegates, the majority are Ron Paul supporters. At that State convention, the 28 delegates Nevada will send to the National Convention will be elected.

Nevada delegates are bound to vote for the winner of the straw poll (Romney) on the 1st round. After that, they become unbound and can vote for whomever they wish.

The Clark County Executive board has 20 seats (Chairman acts as tiebreaker). Today at the convention 14 of those 20 seats were up for election. All 14 seats went to Ron Paul supporters.
