Ron Paul supporters now working on two pre-RNC festivals

I'd rather have one festival with thousands attending, than a thousand festivals with just one person at each, lol. I wouldn't mind hearing Gary Johnson speak, but if there's one festival for Romney supporters and one for Paul supporters, you can bet which one I'm going to be at.

What I'm afraid of is at the last minute they will only let the one with the Romney approved name go forward, and suddenly it isn't Paul Fest.

Yes, parocks festival will be happening during the convention. parocks festival will probably be in maine.

but, ah, yes, competing paul festivals, just because it was possible that one wouldn't be an entire waste of time, there has to be 2, to make sure that won't happen.

"Both would take place from Aug. 24-26, ending just before the convention starts, and organizers of each expect tens of thousands of people."

If you're going to be 30 away, why not do it during the convention?

The news is gonna show a Ron Paul festival crowd and then show it on TV as being a Romney crowd... just like how they show dead Iraqi children as dead Syrian children on the news.

*blurs out Ron Paul signs and shirts and inserts Romney*

lolz.

I plan on going to Paul festival just to meet other people in the movement from around the country.

I stopped giving a damn what the media thought about us a long time ago.

The fact that Romney is OK with a "Freedom Fest" being full of Ron Paul supporters, but not a "Paul Fest" being full of Ron Paul supporters shows that the name for the sake of the media reporting is all he is concerned about. A Paul Fest with thousands of people more than Romney ever draws anywhere will make him look bad in comparison. But a Freedom Fest, that he can say he is a part of, can only make him look good. For that reason the name must stay "Paul Fest." Paul deserves the credit here, not Romney or the Republican party.

I concure.. Paul Fest or none.

Amazing...
FYI: Long before the Romney rumors some people here at RPF's wanted Freedom Fest, but Deb was strongly in favor of Paul Fest.

Admission for the Paul Festival 2012 will be $39.90 a day or $77 — a price chosen in honor of Paul's 77th birthday on Aug. 20 — for all three days.

I do hope Johnson chooses to speak at Paul Fest over Freedom Fest. After all, he did tell his supporters to support Ron Paul. Let's see the leader lead by example.

Two festivals seems redundant. How about "Freedom Fest featuring Ron Paul" ? :)

I believe the draw for most people here is that it IS a celebration of Ron and Ron's grassroots. Now that Romney wanted Freedom fest, I dislike that even more.

I have so many thoughts here...

is Paul Fest going to be pay to enter like I've heard Freedom Fest is going to be?

are these two Fests really going to occur at the same time?

is Gary Johnson going to be invited to Paul Fest?

?

The prices above were for Paul fest. You didn't think they were able to rent the Tampa Fairgrounds for free, did you?

Paul Fest was way before freedom fest, freedom fest seemingly is being put on out of spite. I see absolutely no reason that Freedomfest was a necessary move by the organizers.

PAUL FEST BABY! see you there!!!
