Cody Hauer has been cited four times in one week for displaying a 13-inch-by-40-inch "Ron Paul Revolution" decal in the rear window of his car. It could cost him more than $550.

Obstruct his view??

I somehow bet it's legal to drive a van or truck with no back windows. Sound like they don't like him there.

If there is a statue saying there must be nothing obstructing a drivers vision, let's get rid of the radio's, cell phones, iPod, food, cigarettes, and all other distractions!

Good new government being the nanny.

This police chief/sheriff needs to be voted out come next election. And, the local laws need to be addressed. Another example of what we can do to continue this revolution. Get involved and make changes while we still can.....

I met this guy when I was out canvasing on super tuesday. Showed me the tickets and everything.

Hardcore cool guy, but what RP supporter isn't?

Shit, that doesn't obstruct his view at all. I thought he had put an actual sign in his back window from the article I had read...

Four times in one week? They don't have anything better to do than to harass this guy?

Man thats nothing compared to what I have in the rear window of my mustang. Im going to go take a picture of it and show ya guys to see a comparison.

So, I take it full size vans that don't have rear windows have been outlawed in Minnesota? What about semis...do they get fines for not having rear windows too?

I seriously doubt that the laws (thanks to interstate commerce) can vary a whole lot from state regarding rear visibility from a vehicle and here in TN and in AL and KY, if you have side mirrors on both sides of the vehicle, you don't have to have ANY visibility from your rear-view mirror (think semi-trucks, delivery trucks, vans, vehicles towing trailers, etc.). This is complete and total hogwash and should be taken to court (as opposed to simply paying the tickets). Make them show a LAW that says cars can't have 'obstructed views'.

Ridiculous. Those stickers do NOT obstruct the driver's view. Shit, I have three times as many stickers on my back window, and my driving record is CLEAN.

I would heavily contest those charges. That police chief is obviously just bored. If he shows that picture in court, questions the definition of "sign" (sign=stickers?), and, if applicable, uses his clean driving record to bolster his defense, then I'd say he'd have a good chance of making His Chiefness look like complete jackass.

If you read the article you can see where the sheriff says that the boy is rude to the cops and talks himself into a ticket every time by being a jerk. I imagine if the kid was respectful and did not have an attitude that the police would not have caused him any grief.

If they had not pulled him over, then he wouldn't have been rude to them.

What did they pull him over for? For the obstructed back window!
If he has a mirror on either side of his car, then he is legal.

I guess every time I pull a trailer, I should be pulled over because it is obstructing my view out the back window.

Those so called police need to get a life!
