Ron Paul Segment of Fox news just ended

The real problem is his stance against the Civil Rights legislation.

Well, as I understand it he was against the Civil Rights Act, a particular bill. But, I agree, he needs to lay out EXACTLY why he is against it.

While he is at it, he needs some hard numbers for elimination of the income tax. How much spending needs to be cut and where.

He takes the Barry Goldwater position on it, which was to ammend existing legislation, instead of a new act that allowed the federal government to intrude on propery rights. Of course that makes him sound racist though.

That why he needs to spell out his objection. If he is going to oppose the most popular piece of legislation in the last 50 years he better well come up with a counter proposal that will do the same thing while at the same time protecting citizens property rights from undue government seizure. Championing an amendment that does that would be great- anything to counteract that false claim of racism.

We all know Paul is the most tolerate, loving and accepting presidential candidate. The campaign needs to focus some ads on that fact . Something like, "this is what the media says about Ron Paul, but these are the facts....he fought for inner city folks when no one else would…defender of individual liberty...only president who supports gays (which would be big in New Hampshire) etc etc. Stuff like that will turn the media attacks back on themselves. We cannot be unprepared, if we place 3rd in Iowa they will launch these attacks with full force, we better take notice.

They are soooo funny..bringing up a 100 year old war to try and prove he wouldn't have voted for THAT one EITHER!!!!!!! Why do none of them understand that thiss Nation was made to live in PEACE!!!

The civil rights act needs a little more explanation. All he needs to do is to offer his own solution (his own solutions are always winners as they are founded in superior logic).

This worked great for slavery: Buy all the slaves. No other country had to fight a war to end slavery.

This worked for Rosa Parks medal: Every member of congress pitches in $100, taxpayers don't have to pay. They wouldn't and end up looking like scoundrels while Paul looks like a hero.

I'm from South Carolina. In South Carolina state's rights is a huge issue. South Carolina is a right to work state.

Most South Carolinians are well aware that the War of Northern Aggression had little to do with slavery.

The tariff and state's rights were the key issues. It's worth noting that the Emancipation Proclamation did not free a single slave.

It is also worth noting that slavery was abolished around the world without nations resorting to war.

Slavery is wrong but so was the War of Northern Aggression. Abraham Lincoln brought unprecedented death and destruction to our nation. Sherman's march through the south burning everything in sight including churches has gone down in history as one of the most horrific actions ever taken by the United States government.

Fox screwed this one up. It will backfire big time. Especially among those in the south who have not been brainwashed by the rewriting of history.

Incidentally, the only two presidents in history less popular than George W. Bush were Richard Nixon and Abraham Lincoln.

Bill Kristol needs to be fired immediately. He is the biggest fool and liar that I've seen in a while.

The media's highlighting of the civil war/civil rights bill shows to a large extent the futility of Paul distancing himself from other subjects (for example, 9-11 truth) that are shared widely by his supporters. While doing so has helped keep the MSM from using it to easily marginalize him, they've simply looked for another issue to frame him as fringe. Paul's probably better off being as blunt on everything as he was at the beginning of his campaign.

Unfortunately the truth took a back seat as far as history of the Civil War is concerned. The Federal government got to write the history with no concern for the truth. The facts do not square with the history taught in our public schools. Lincoln and his supporters successfully overthrew the Constitution by staging a Coup. Prior to the Coup the Federal government was constrained by the Constitution whereas it only had limited powers. After the coup the Federal government took unlimited power over the States and the people.

Follow the money. The leaders of industry and war profiteers provoked the Civil War then and the same type of power brokers are provoking wars and controlling our government and people today. The global Corporations and the Military Complex (some are one and the same) are making billions of dollars off the war today similar to what their predecessors did during the Civil War.

I have information on the amount of money made off the Civil War by war profiteers but I will have to look it up.

Bankers.

In some cases, it's generations of the same family.

I'm not sure the bankers like Ron Paul's position on abolishing the Federal Reserve.

Agreed. He's needs to come out with guns a blazin'. People respect strength and honesty. If he's adamant enough about these subjects, he'll cause people to question their own beliefs.
