Ron Paul Says Libertarians Should “Vote For The Libertarian Party”

Although Ron Paul has not been as active in politics since his 2012 Presidential campaign many libertarians still look to him for guidance. Libertarians heeded his advice for 2016 at first because it was straightforward: support Rand Paul. But after Rand Paul dropped out things got more complicated. Should libertarians stay with the Republican Party and vote for Ted Cruz? Or should libertarians leave and vote for the Libertarian Party nominee? That question has been floating around a lot recently but Ron Paul finally put an end to it. Ron Paul says libertarians should “vote for the Libertarian Party” and not fall for the lesser of two evils argument.

Previously Ron Paul had only said that he would not vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. He made it clear that he doesn’t see any meaningful difference between the two candidates. They “both support the military industrial complex, the Federal Reserve, deficits, entitlements, and the invasion of our privacy”. Ron Paul could never support a candidate like that. The letter next to their name on the ballot doesn’t make any difference. It’s their positions that count not their party.

As usual, the libertarians will not be voting. They're much more inclined to take the NAP seriously.

I don't expect the LP to put forward a strong libertarian candidate, much less one worth getting excited enough about to vote.

What strengths are you looking for in a libertarian candidate?

One with double digit polling, the ability to draw millions in contributions and who has a strong campaign organization nationwide. That's the minimum.

Sounds like a chicken and the egg situation, although Gary Johnson might meet most of that criteria. Not that it makes his principles any better.

Thanks Ron!

Libertarian-wise,

McAfee is exactly the kind of "crazy" the current tyrannical situation demands. A soft voice isn't going to work, and this isn't violence -but it absolutely threatens the correct targets.

Take the fight to "both" parties in no uncertain terms, like you got nothing to lose. Let somebody else worry about the Mitch McConnell, etc. relationships. Meaning, multi-pronged attacks are awesome, absolutely no dissing intended to Rand, etc.
