Ron Paul says he has 2.4 million cash on hand (3rd among GOPs)

We have very conservative parents who have a lot of conservative friends (especially in their Sunday school class--which just so happens to contain some very well known people in our city, such as the DEA of the county, among many others), who have been duped by the MSM, the Republican party, etc. I'm from a small city (Maryville, TN) that is chockfull of traditional conservative Republicans. They pretty much all supported Bush, the "war," etc., and I know that they are all ready for a change. (Oh, and also, a lot of these people have a lot of money.) So I am trying to infiltrate my hometown with the Ron Paul message. And I think it will work!

Way to go, Richard! It would be so great to have these people on board. :)

I think it's because he works 15 hours a day.

Running for president wasn't his idea, and he never thought it was going to take off.
We should be working as hard as he is-- we want it as badly as he does. Put that tired face in a frame on your nightstand, and when you hit the alarm in the morning, think of how much he is going to do for the country today, and ask yourself what are you going to do for him today.

I think he gave a better explanation for his support in today's WBT radio interview. That people are tired of electing candidates that forget their promises, and they're sick of it happening in both parties.

NO MORE LIES

They haven't been the easiest people to get through to, though. The problem has been is status as an "outsider" and a "long shot." But I sense a change in the wind.... The topic of this thread is the very thing that was needed to provide that little extra *push* over the edge.
My dad looks through www.drudgereport.com every day. I've already impressed him with things like "Ron Paul mentioned Walter Williams as a person he would like to have in his administration" (not to mention the fact that my dad thought I was a "bleeding-heart liberal"--only because I see the "bigger picture," and I reeeally can't stand Bush and his administration). I also introduced him to "9/11 truth" recently (which started with a conversation about how horrible Rosie is) by mentioning WTC 7. He--as most "conservative Republicans"--was completely unaware of WTC 7. Of course, he listens to neocon talk radio shows like Rush Limbaugh (because he has to drive a lot for his job).

Anyway, my point is that this new development is definitely going to bring A LOT of people into this campaign. I'm sure that Dr. Paul's "numbers" have been this low thus far because of doubt. I really think that more and more people will start tuning in now, though, because this news will instill hope where hope was only prayed for before.

From the Ron Paul 2008.com donation page:

6. I am at least 18 years of age. If a minor (over the age of 16), I am voluntarily making this contribution, which consists of my own funds; my contribution is not controlled by another individual and is not made from a gift given to me to make this contribution.

Hey, I didn't know that. I thought I couldn't contribute until I was eighteen. And since I just happen to be sitting in around $600 in birthday money... :)

Good advice. Thank you.

The story is all over the place, I mean all over. Here's one I just found: http://2008central.net/?p=1046 but I've also seen CBS and others with it.

Did the FCC lift its ban? :tinfoilhat smiley: Does that make anyone else nervous? :tinfoilhat_holed_up_in_bunker smiley:

Has anyone seen any note of the on FOX or MSNBC? I checked there websites and saw nothing, and I don't get those stations in my cable package. When was the last time you saw ABC run a news story on there front page and have Fox and MSNBC not report on it?

It happens all the time, especially when covering it would mean talking about an interview on an enemy network.

Hey now, we'll need Rupert to help us beat Hillary later next year!

Who wants to take odds that Rupert will favor Hillary over Ron Paul?

(OMG, have I become that cynical? I was christened Republican -- my parents would roll over in their graves were they not still among us.)

I didn't think there were any republicans left in MN! Rep, dem, or other I'm glad we've all found our way into the Ron Paul tent.

I saw you in Des Moines but I was too busy helping out to stop and introduce myself. Likewise for Josh and a lot of the other regulars here.

Let's plan a get-together on August 11, even if for ten minutes to say hello. There were a bunch of people here going to Des Moines whom I never got to meet. I did meet Josh, I'm very happy to say. :D
