Politico posted this article speaking of the 2 camps in the Tea Party Movement: the libertarian camp and the social conservative camp. The libertarian camp supports Ron Paul and the social conservative camp supports Sarah Palin. The Tea Party movement is literally split down the middle between the two.

In 2012, if Ron Paul were to win the GOP primary, I doubt he would pick Palin as a running mate (look what happened to McCain in 2008; also she doesnt fit his mold of constitutional conservatism). He'd probably pick Gary Johnson, Judge Napolitano, or Peter Schiff. So the real hypothetical is, what if Sarah Palin won the 2012 primary and chose Ron Paul as her running mate.

I know everyone has very strong opinions about Palin (many of which I'm sure are negative).

But would/could you support the hypothetical Tea Party ticket of Palin/Paul in 2012?

I don't think Ron Paul would accept any offer to be Palin's running mate.

Any GOP nominee would be scared to death of picking Ron Paul as their VP. Just think about it for a moment, considering the mainstream GOP's perception of radical Paul supporters.

If Ron Paul accepted the offer, I would seriously consider it. But I don't believe he would accept without major changes from Palin.

Sarah Palin was a running mate for a guy who flip-flops, flaps around in the political wind, and voted for bailouts.

What sort of Constitution/Libertarian track record does she really have?!?

She was selected and took the opportunity to jumpstart her career. If Ron Paul had been McCain's VP would that make him any less constitutional or libertarian?

As for Palin/Paul, I'd love to see it.

Absolutely

If you want the cause of liberty to be embarrassed and discredited forever, then that would be a great idea!

I would vote for a palin/paul or paul/palin ticket in a heartbeat. Don't think it would happen though.

Let's see. A "Saddam was behind 9/11" conspiracy theorist (Palin) and a non interventionist (Paul) on the same ticket? It'll never happen.

This dude can't resist goading people into talking about his pet topic of 9/11 trutherism... sad.

 What's sad is that you feel the need to comment on a post not even directed at you. Take your insecurities somewhere else. Sarah Palin believes that Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11 and that's that stupidest 9/11 theory out there. Also if you can't see how an absolute war hawk like Palin could never successfully be on the ticket with an non interventionist like Paul then you are really clueless. The fact that Palin still believes the original Bush lie about the Iraq war shows she would never be able to mesh with Paul on this issue.

My post wasn't directed at you.

Well that makes two of us (being confused). I'm confused as to why you think an obvious slap at Palin's idiocy on foreign policy is an attempt to "goad" you or anyone else into talking about 9/11? You don't have to believe "inside job" to realize that Saddam wasn't involved. Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld all admitted that was a lie. If Palin can't see that then she'll never go for someone who talks about 9/11 being the result of "blowback".
