Ron Paul Press Release: The New Republic

He needs to name names, and assure the black community that a member of Congress doesn't really believe all those vile things written about them.

No. He has said he does not agree with the comments, taken moral responsibility and denied writing them. That is assuring the "community".

He gains NOTHING by pointing fingers and tarnishing somebody else and bringing the ire upon another individual. Naming the person gains NOTHING in the moral sense. Naming somebody else is the coward's way out. Naming somebody else does nothing to further prove it was not him, you either believe he didn't write them or you don't.

No he shouldn't and he won't. That is not his style.
He will say he didn't write it; but he apologizes for it getting out there.

Ron Paul is not one to make it personal.
The reason he will not name the person, is why Ron Paul is the better person.

Well, tough. His job is to run an effective campaign with the money that we all sent him. And if he's sticking by this author out of friendship, or some bizarre sense of principle that a publicly written article cannot have its author named, than it's an insult to every one of us.

Consider this. He may not even know who wrote it. If he didn't edit it and didn't write it and he said "others" wrote for his newsletter then maybe he doesn't know.

I'm sure he may know that it may be any one of a small group of people. If I were him I wouldn't release the name(s) either. It's old news and not relevant. His "associate" is not running for President. Ron Paul is.
