Ron Paul places 2nd in Townhall Straw Poll for February, <3% behind Palin

After tens of thousands of votes were cast in the February Townhall/HotAir GOP presidential Straw Poll, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin took the victory with 18.23% of the vote. Coming in 2nd was Texas Congressman Ron Paul with just over 15.49%. The results from February showed a tightening in the race when compared to the results from January. Votes for Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Herman Cain, John Bolton, Mitch Daniels, Tim Pawlenty, Jim DeMint, John Thune, Haley Barbour and those indicating undecided slightly decreased.

Ron gets 2d in Important February Townhall straw poll, better than Jan. March voting open.

This still pisses me off because all month it showed Ron in 4th, but maybe that is because he was in JANUARY, so now maybe it will show 2d throughout March... nice thought....

In any event, it is a stupid on line poll you have to give an email in proper format to vote for, BUT it comes up as an ad on tons of conservative blogs, or maybe it is just my political junkie search format that gives it to me so often.

Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, Chris Christie, Rick Santorum saw a slight increase in voting percentage.

Paul Ryan, Michele Bachmann, Jon Huntsman, and Rick Perry were new to the poll this month.

I just posted and then saw yours. I didn't look carefully I guess. If the mods could just make my post a comment to yours, that would be great. This is an important poll because it shows up in google ads all the time if you tend to read political news. And it shows the vote percentage as a bar graph.

Excellent job. Everyone needs to register with TownHall and take this poll. They are very influential in the conservative/online community, and lots of GOP voters will get a sense of momentum from TownHall.
