RON PAUL ON MSNBC WITH MIKA -- COMING UP (5:15 am central right now)

It'd be nice if the real video were posted. Is there any way of implementing a warning system? Where people can complain about a poster's replies, these would be submitted to the admin, and the admin can take whatever action he feels necessary?

I understand levity and some of these videos were fun at first. But I agree with the others. Now it's getting really annoying. Thank you to the posters who didn’t try to deliberately deceive when posting comedic videos.

I'll take the first step....

I give you my word, I won't knowingly post any links that are misleading or intended to be funny.

There is already a system like this in place. At the top right of each post is a little red triangle with an exclamation point. Clicking this brings up the form to report a post.

I understand that the misleading youtube link thing is really, really annoying and childish, but I'm not sure the reporting form should be used in this case.

It's probably better to just ignore it. These days I just wait for someone else to follow the link and report back on it.

The comedy videos were fine, especially when they were labeled as such so I can skip over them. Some times I view links at work or just listen to them. As the time I have to do this at work is limited (breaks and such), I would like to be able to skip over the joke links and get straight to the link that the thread is talking about.

Thanks for understanding.

Understood, how about then when people are trying trick people into being "Rick'rolld," they come back and edit their post saying it's not the real one. I discovered this thread when it was 8 pages long. Kind of annoying when you see 10 links all stating to be the "real link." :(

Nah, I understand. LImited time while at work, and don't need inefficiencies.

Interesting libertarian puzzle -- can a Ron Paul message board solve RickRolling w/o regulation? :D :D :D

Well the Thursday MNSBC transcript is available ... no Ron Paul included .... (surprise, surprise). But.... plenty of Paris Hilton!

The problem with the Rickrolling thing is that this is a Ron Paul forum. It may be acceptable to do it once and everyone can laugh about it, but at a certain point it is excessive and becomes spam or whatever you want to call it.

I don't see anything wrong with banning people that do it constantly. They already know that the joke is old and most people are annoyed that it is a waste of time then the only reason they are doing it is to cause problems.

In all honesty, if you F***'d around with Thomas Jefferson like this, he WOULD shoot you in the face with his musket.

In a civil society people would generally respect other people enough not to inconvenience them or make a joke at their expense. As individuals, we should simply use one or all the tools at our disposal: complain to the owner of the establishment, use the ignore user feature, write a post condemning the behavior or simply shake our heads and move on.

None of us are helpless, we need to rewire our brains about how to handle things without resorting to the very thing we are fighting. (BTW appealing to the forum staff is just fine, think about it like eating at a restaurant and encountering a rude/obnoxious/belligerent customer at the table next to yours...)

But, I just think some people lack taste when it comes to humor and don't know when to quit. Immaturity, perhaps, but a nuisance for sure.

In the old colonial colonies and in rough survival times a man's word was his life. If it could not be trusted one could die. So the liars and foolers were soon discarded and starved, leaving Men of trust.
