Watched McLaughlin Group last night. On the issue of the cost of the Iraq War, they featured statements by Ron Paul! Furthermore, one of their Issues was whether or not they agreed with Ron Paul's statements that this war is harming us economically.

Eleanor and John McLaughlin agreed with Ron Paul, the others did not. I was a bit surprised to see Pat Buchanan not agreeing. I would like to know how 1 trillion dollars spent in vain does not harm us economically?

At any rate, it makes me feel like all the efforts to elect Ron Paul have been wasted. His ideas are taking root!

Dow futures down 450 points

It's going to be a bloodbath on Wallstreet tomorrow. Mainstreet next-our govt really sold us out this time.

As for the cost of the war. Hundreds of thousands dead. Turkey has lost hundreds of billions in trade from the wars in Iraq and Iran I can see why their pissed. Our cost of 2.4 trillion sounds about right but with all this off budget lying and cheating it's hard to tell. Looks like the winners are the arms dealers and the oil rich countries.

It depends on whether you think the war is in VAIN or not... If you think it is than the money spent on the war seems like a waste, if you think the Iraq war is important to the safety of the USA and stablility in the Middle East then it is not a bad use of money. The truth is probably in between, there is some good and some bad that will come of the war...

I am not sure the money spent in Iraq is hurting the USA. No one can be sure, because no one knows the future... it's an investment...

Yes, I believe it is being spent in vain. So does Ron Paul.
There is strong evidence to suggest that Bin Laden actually wanted us in Iraq in order to create an environment of hostility to make it easy to recruit terrorists. See this story at http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/08/24/2013753.htm among others. Iraq was not a threat to us, even if they had the WMD's that were claimed. And unless they actually invaded one of our allies, the ONLY true one in the Middle East being Israel, we would have no business interfering. I am not so sure Ron Paul would even approve of helping an ally - one of the issues that does not help him.

Pat Buchanan did agree with Ron Paul on the other issue. The foreign countries own our debt and they are buying our businesses because we spend to much while borrowing, etc. etc.
