I consider myself conservative, the 'libertarian label' is too fought over. But I do believe in principles, call them what you may. Labels aren't the point.

I note that despite Hunter's title, Ron never says anything about libertarianism, much less 'L'ibertarianism, just about conservativism.

If you want to bend the meanings of words to coalition-build, I guess that's okay. It's going to be a rather tenuous coalition though, and will fall apart (to some extent or another).

I think principles should stay true, I don't say call them something else, just that I'm not confused, personally, when people like Beck try to put a name they want, momentarily, on actions that don't line up. I think Ron is absolutely conservative, but I think Beck is a shill, and regardless of what you call either, they will remain who they are.

Conservatives don't fight against the drug war, ID systems, raw milk raids, etc, etc.

I know he has.

But it doesn't MATTER what you call it because he is who he is and stands for what he stands for. But to say terms he has used for himself means everyone else who uses the terms stands for the same is just a nonstarter, if that is what he was implying.
