Ron Paul on front page of Drudge (Or is he?)

lol this is why people get so turned off by the movement. You guys try so hard to make something out of nothing, even in this case if it's positive. You guys flip out if they accidentally spell his name wrong and crap.

Then to say how credible drudge is just shows how partisan you are. He gives misleading headlines to articles for idiots who choose to read/believe headlines instead of reading the actual articles. Can't count how many times I have got into a political discussion and somebody says something factually incorrect and I correct them and ask where they heard that from. "I read it on drudge". You don't read stuff on Drudge...you click links and read things on other news sites. Too bad most people don't do that.

And for everybody praising drudge...he has quite a few tons of negative articles about Ron the last few months, he's not your hero...

Been saying the same thing for awhile. Trust no one that is acting like a gatekeeper right now, especially if its one of the bought up sites for conservative gatekeepers. To control you, you have to give undue trust.

That is impossible. Read everything with a critical, dispassionate eye. Most of the gatekeepers for the conservative movement are being controlled by relatively few people. Take everything one day at a time. You don't know Drudge. I don't know Drudge. Don't trust peope you don't personally know, and probably not then. Most of these people will backtrack to keep audience and then stick the knife in later - again and again. Beck and Worldnetdaily are examples of this.

And what "people" is that? And who's making 'something out of nothing"/ Did you even read the article on Drudge? He is clearly mocking the MSM for only devoting one sentence in the entire article he linked to to Ron Paul.
by posting that blacked out silhouette.

Sounds like you're the one jumping to conclusions here.

Responses like yours likely turn more people off than people excited for media coverage do.

they added a bit I guess

Texas Rep. Ron Paul arrives Wednesday. Recent polls suggest he is peaking as caucus day approaches, a rise that has him tied with Romney or even ahead, and drawing more scrutiny for his views.
lol... I don't even think they know what they are saying. IF ONLY that were true. His actual views, I mean. Not the media's intentional misrepresentation of them.

We should definitely appreciate Drudge for being friendly towards Ron Paul. At the very least fair, rather than antagonistic.

I agree. Considering that the Drudge Report is almost a one man show and that he obviously would prefer a different candidate, he has been fairer than 90% of the media.

This same silhouette is used for the headline on Town Hall. Did Drudge pull this from TownHall or vice versa? If the former, then someone else has "authored" the subliminal message.

I don't care where he got it from. I'm just glad he posted it.

if your 11th post over the course of over a year is to tell us why people are 'so turned off' by the movement, perhaps you should stick to a self-enforced 10 post limit.

I am pretty sure that people are getting turned on by the movement. For you to delurk to post something like this tells me that you are agitated enough to post about it. Is it possible that your desire to find something negative about the movement has caused you to stretch your imaginations to the point of making ironic posts like this?

I saw the link when it wasn't the headline, with the silhouette. I immediately recognized Dr. Paul. Clearly there is some sort of phenomena occurring here for a leading candidate to be portrayed in such a way. People are turned on by this come here and post about it, and yet here you come saying the exact opposite is occurring.

To downplay the overwhelmingly positive impact that Drudge has had on helping the movement spread the ideas and messages of Ron Paul, is to show how completely out of touch you are with the link between "news" and an idea that is not controlled by "the news".

I really hope that you continue to share your insights on this board so that I may be proved wrong in my judgement of you as a sensationalist worry wort. It seems that lately, there are no shortage of new memebers or members with an infintesimal post/day count coming out with negativity and offering absolutely no support to the activities of this board. Don't be the peanut gallery, join the symphony!

Again guys, how are you saying Drudge has been FAIR to Ron Paul? HE DOESN'T WRITE ANYTHING. He links to articles. Again, i visit Drudge multiple times a day as i'm a news hound. The majority of his headlines are misleading once I end up reading the articles.

The media was KILLING Romney, Cain, Newt, Perry, Bachmann yet you guys were whining because you weren't getting enough media coverage, ignoring the fact that most of the coverage was negative from a Republican standpoint. These included the Cain harrassment issues, the Perry, Bachmann, Cain repeated gaffes, slamming Romney over and over for flip flopping, Newt and the Freddie Mac "historian" stuff ETC. All the while Ron Paul sat there without a scandal and without a gaffe for the media to care enough. IMO this whole thing is basically the media vetting all the candidates and getting all of their votes/views out of the closet. The only stories about Ron Paul were pretty much talking about how he wasn't getting any coverage. But lets be real, he was polling very low. We already saw him campaign just a few years ago and he just isn't a sexy candidate. That's all there is to it. It's NOT because the media is just so scared of the Ron Paul presidency, and it's certainly not because of any sort of conspiracy by anybody. Now he got a few percentage points and is moving up the polls so he is the one being vetted and you guys are acting like he's the only one. I'm just giving you advice...90% of the discussion here seems to be whining about this or things similar to this. People love Paul because HE sticks to the issues...it just seems very few of you are tho.

Who am I? I am a liberal with an open mind willing to vote for Ron Paul. I have differences in his views about a lot of the cuts of government programs but am in line in terms of law, the war on drugs, troops/war, and living your life with the least amount of government intervention as possible. The things I disagree with Mr. Paul about, I honestly think enough people in the house/senate oppose so that I would never see it get done anyway. You guys may disagree with me on that, so be it.

As for your hero Drudge...you do realize the headline currently is: "NEWT! BAM! SMACK! PAUL 'NO BETTER THAN OBAMA' " linking to an article with Newt just flinging lies at Ron Paul. Is that also Drudge helping your movement? I'm sorry...I guess I am an idiot for realizing that Drudge is a partisan who makes misleading headlines and simply links to articles. Can you disagree with anything in that sentence? Humor me.

the first part in bold contradicts the second part in bold.

Drudge will rip our hearts out at some point, I'm waiting for it.

Look at the page now. Big and bold right up top is a story about Newt trashing Paul with the comments closed on the page.

And look below at "Stealthy Santorum" with half of his face cut off... I laughed at that.

So today Ron Paul is on The Huffington Post's front page with almost the exact same blacked out silhouette. Does that mean Arianna Huffington is now your hero as well? Or is it just a picture with an article(ding ding ding)
