maybe the gop is driving me crazy. i have never been so angry in my life. I was a peace loving hippie until i reg republican. being a republican is starting to feel like being a moonie. i need to be kidnapped and decoded from being republican or something.
after that interview all i can think of is love songs for mittens,
Dude, if you need mental reprogramming go for it, you don't need anyone's permission, though you've got mine if you need it
If Ron Paul were 10X's as popular as he is in raising money he could possibly consider running independent, but the moment he would consider it he would burn all bridges he's built since he's been back in the Republican party after running Libertarian last time.
'cept this time he actually has a legacy of 'Ron Paul' Republicans that is currently growing and stands to gain momentum in 2012 even if Ron Paul doesn't win the White House.
It's a hard pill to swallow, especially with the likes of Santorum calling for elimination of libertarianism from the Republican Party, but at least that is where the fight is being made.
The Democrats have nothing to offer, Obuma is nothing more than Bush III, and no 3rd party can make a difference.
As far as short-term campaign strategy I really don't know, maybe it's better for Paul and Romney to force at least one if not both other contenders out of the race. Romney thinks he can more easily consolidate his position and beat Paul one-on-one and Paul thinks that he can garner enough delegates to win via a brokered convention. No long term deal just short term cooperation.
And besides, if Romney has truly been respectful and gentlemanly towards Ron, both during this campaign and the last, then I fully expect Ron to be respectful back.
But we'll have to see how this turns out. Personally I'm sticking with Ron Paul since I really trust him to make the best deal possible, not for his own personal gain but for liberty, peace, and sound money.
