Ron Paul on Daily Show TONIGHT Monday 9/26

Loved his pregnancy line. It was something "As a physician, if a woman comes to me and she's pregnant, I can't just tell her she's got a touch of pregnancy." He was comparing this to the philosophy of freedom. It was great.

It. Just. Happened.

I've always told people that republicans and democrats could never get along, however if you got a hardcore socialist and a hardcore libertarian in the same room they could discuss philosophy for hours. I believe I just saw a glimpse of what that would look like.

The most powerful interview I've seen in a very long time.

I am very excited, and will be sure to donate some for the push as well as the BTO.

There is just one point I wish he would have made during the question about regulation and the industrial revolution where Stewart asked if the corporations should be accountable to elected regulators instead of shareholders. Paul made the point that companies colluded back then to pollute, but he should have mentioned that it is the government that allowed them to get away with it. If property rights were enforced those companies would not have gotten away with it. Other than that I thought he did well.

I think he missed a chance to point out regulators aren't elected. They're unelected bureaucrats, usually wholly unaccountable to the Congress, and often drawn from the very companies they're supposed to be reigning in - and to which they return when they leave government.

I didn't like the way that Stewart said "as anybody who is familiar with the industrial revolution knows." implying that Paul isn't.

I thought it made Ron look like a blurry headed old man who wants corporations to run everything. The commercial for the segment was more exciting than the actual segment. There was nothing about the wars really, or the drug war, or things like the Patriot Act. I don't think this is going to sell anyone on his candidacy. Disappointed.

Ron did a great job in the interview. He looked good, he was relaxed, and he smiled a lot and showed a different side of himself that's generally not shown on TV. I don't think he could do better than he did. Jon Stewart had some very good thinking questions for him, and I think he helped hit on some points that were sore or misunderstood, like the federal government versus state governments.

Yea, all in all a slamdunk!

Another thing I would have liked Ron Paul to highlight is that having states do more means less money going to the federal level and being wasted on foreign affairs.

Although, he might have highlighted these things in the full interview.

LOL Help me though I don't know who to vote for this is kind of a tough choice.

This week Rep. Ron Paul stops by to discuss his presidential candidacy. Who would be his ideal running mate?
Ralph Nader
11%
Rand Paul
33%
Dennis Kucinich
35%
Zombie Ayn Rand
21%

I sorta thought the screaming in the background added a level of excitement to the room. I didn't think it was distracting!

But he specifically spoke against corporatism and talked about how in the free market, corporations would be regulated much stricter than under the current system.
