If they're "bound", then they don't physically vote at the next level of the convention; their votes are tallied directly from the straw poll result.
They only get to vote for the nominee personally if there is a deadlock in the bound counts. Otherwise they can vote on the party platform and other meeting minutia.

I agree.....why are we talking about this? Why is the campaign talking about this on national tv? It's like telling the defense that you're throwing a pass to number 35.
What's to stop the other campaigns from stressing to their folks to stay and be delegates? You can't tell me that with Romney's money that he couldn't do something about this so....why tip our hand?
And he mentioned that the establishment Republicans have even tried to change delegate meeting places to make it harder on us. Again, if it was secret, we wouldn't have this problem.
So can someone please tell me why we're talking about this?
