Ron Paul needs to talk more about his $39,000 salary proposal if elected President

And it's definitely helpful in perking up the ears of the apathetic folks out there. Whoa... a politician is saying this? Cut his OWN salary? wha...? Who is this guy?

The more tools we have to shake people and wake them up, the better. Every little bit helps.
You never know what might open someone else's eyes enough to get them to take a better look and do their research.

That alone is not going to impress the public. Many will decry it as a stunt. IIRC, didn't Ross Perot offer to do something similar? It didn't do much if anything for him. The only way it will help is by being PART OF A CONSISTENT PATTERN of government sacrifice for the good of the people.

well like I said, you never know what might open someone else's eyes. Will some think it's just a stunt? Sure. There's a reason for so much cynicism (as we all know with this government and the leaders we've had thus far) but then when they actually look at his economic plan they'll hopefully realize he means business. If it opens the door to someone learning MORE about him, they'll come to the conclusion that... no! It is not just a stunt. It'll start to sink in. His record will start to come to the forefront and what he is saying will hopefully click.

And already you have people on this thread who have said that yes, it has helped to reach some people.

just my opinion.

I honestly don't think it's worth converting people over this issue. If this is the issue that converts them, once they find out that Romney said he'd donate his entire salary to charity last cycle, they'd be liable to bolt.

Can't hurt as part of the total package, though.

Exactly I dont know why he doesn't push that more often.

+1

It's a great way to segue into his "I don't participate in the lucrative congressional pension program, never voted for a salary increase, etc..."
It helps show he's in it for the right reasons.
