Ron Paul needs to go all out in Thursday's debate

In the debate.. take on an opponents answer to a debate question. Whether you are asked first or last.

Sieze the moment to expose your opponent. Show the American people how foolish these tools are.

Its the economy stupid. Explain how your plan will stimulate the economy.

I posted this in the Florida forum but I just got an email from the Florida campaign saying Ron has been officially been invited and will be attending this debate on thursday night.

I think his performance at the South Carolina debate was pretty much how it should be done. If he gets too aggressive, he goes into Mike Gravel turf.

I would love to ron paul even more if hes going to say this in the debate

Attacking John McCain and his record

Lest you’ve forgotten, it was McCain who, speaking on public television during the first month of the war, urged Clinton and NATO to bomb the Belgrade bridges, and kill the local residents who were guarding them with nothing but their lives (see “Senator McCain, Clinton's Pal and NATO War Hawk, Is No Hero,” S99-51, Day 31, Update 1, Item 4, Apr. 23, 1999). And it was McCain who tried and failed to push through the U.S. Senate a resolution that would have authorized Clinton to use ground troops against Serbia.

and it was McCain who may i quote

one rhetorical bombing run after another, McCain has bellowed for "lights out in Belgrade" and for NATO to "cream" the Serbs. At the start of May he began declaiming in the US senate for the NATO forces to use "any means necessary" to destroy Serbia.

How can you let this candidate be your president?

I wish ron paul would do that.

And i would love to see if ron paul would attack mitt rommney on the freedom rights of the people.

it would be funny for paul to say to mitt

"with the stock market tanking, its going to be hard for you to write your self checks. luckily i have a mandate and support from the people with xxxx amount of new supporters donating on mlk day"

if i were him i would say something like "Honestly, i feel like i am debating a bunch of democrats up here"

what do you guys think? that would certainly be a good line.

"The rest of the candidates on the stage pretend that we are not in a RECESSION!!! They are out of touch with the Economic realities of the American People. As President I will be honest with American people and work to correct the system which has caused this recession. "

Oh man... thats good stuff! "Excuse me, I seem to have the wrong venue here, I was invited to the Republican debate, whats with all these Democrats?"

:D

LOL!!! Hulk out---that's not something I can see Ron doing, but it'd be hilarious! He'd look like combination of these two faces::mad::D

How about going Scanner on them:

This is what I want to hear...

"The other candidates have been standing up here giggling like grade schoolers while I addressed the audience and warned of the coming recession. Now none of us are laughing. The American people need to decide who they want for President, a straight talker or giggling school children."

Let's hope we see more of the new aggressive Ron Paul that we saw in the Fox debate.

With Hunter out and Thompson not attending, that leaves 5: Huckabee, McCain, Romney, Giuliani, and Paul.

Who is hosting this debate? Is it Faux News again?

Ron Paul needs to get out of line. He needs to swear and attack McCain. He needs to point out that, with McCain's stance on the war, he won't be able to win the general election.

will Charlie be doing it? he was damn good last time, the best moderator by far.

edit: oops, that was ABC right?

When they laugh at him, Ron needs to stop and say "This isn't funny. The American people don't think it's funny".

I think a polite, but confrontational approach should be taken.

"Mitt, you're wrong because..."

"John, that's not how it really works..."

+1

Yes, something along those lines would be perfect.

He has to call these guys out. They are so ripe for the picking!

He needs to make it clear that none of this (recession, depression, bubbles, boom, etc) is real. The only thing that is real is that the FED is fucking with our money. the FED is trying to artificially control the economy.

It is the FED's fault.....MAKE IT KNOWN RON!

i hate to say it, but i think it would be very helpful for him to pre-script some condensed answers to sum up a variety of his positions, rather than go as far in depth as he usually does on specifics. he could generalize things ala huckabee/obama etc and put a positive spin on them, but he needs to speak their language but with SUBSTANCE behind it, which is something they can't muster. while they can talk about what they want, Ron can say what he wants - what caused it - and what he thinks will fix it. Its not just the war, or the economy, or the federal reserve... its all of them working together, and he needs to stress that you can't fix one thing without addressing the others. we cant win the war without money, and we dont have any money because of the war. etc etc etc... more simplified and catchphrase MEMORABLE statements. now is the time to make people remember his name and what he stands for - nows his chance to truly put them all to shame.

Ron,
You think faster than you speak.

Take a breath.
Zen, buddy.
The message is already golden.

Get it out clearly and concisely.

You can do it.
