Ron Paul Meets With Poker Players Alliance Washington Fly-in

This is great news! Poker player alliance has 800,000 members who are furious about congress regulating the internet and free trade by banning online card playing.

My brother and I are members and have been emailing PPA for awhile. I am glad to see this!

Not only that, but these people throw money around like it's nothing all the time. I'd love to see half of those people throw $100 each at the campaign on November 5th.

Hmm, 400,000 X $100 = $40,000,000

We gotta get Doyle Brunson's endorsment!

He was a life long republican until the online poker ban that was instigated by Bill Frist.

Hell yeah! I was thinking the same thing! And why aren't they participating?? How can we reach those folk?

First, I hate Gambling 911. Second, WOW, this is so fantastic, and could be a huge boost to the campaign!

Yes! Doyle would be a great endorsement! He could not only donate the max for himself and his wife, he could spread the word to his son and all the other rich poker players! Two of the bigger issues with these guys are probably the Online Poker Ban and Taxes, two of Ron Paul's strengths! Plus, Doyle is from Texas as is Ron Paul! Doyle had to shut down his poker site in the U.S. because of the bill that Frist and the neo-cons snuck through Congress so he would be a great fit in the Ron Paul Revolution.

Actually, I would hope that many of them would donate one heck of a lot more than that and would do so at any point they could. We sure could use some help NOW, because we are way behind on our October fundraising goals.

That's where a lot of online poker players hang out, many of whom have won quite a bit playing the online tables.

There was a fund raising drive there for a charity which netted about 40k for Childrens Inc.

Although I doubt the site admins would be that happy about political fundraisers rather than charity fundraisers.

EDIT: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=12548115&page=0&fpart=1&vc=1&nt=7

already a thread.

posting in one of the higher traffic sections would only piss of admins.

I threw that out there just to show the magnitude of money available from these people.

If 1% gave $2,300 that's over $18M. Any way you look at this it could be huge. 800,000 people that don't mind throwing money around, why not give some to a good cause that benefits themselves?

You are right about this, $100 bucks is nothing for this group!

Haha! Yeah. We could try to organize/push "gambling for Ron Paul," where the profits are donated to the campaign. I mean, it doesn't have to be organized. We could just try to convince these people that if they want to have the freedom to gamble in the future, then they should donate their profits (or at least $2300 of their profits) to the campaign. It's probably the best, most intelligent, safest gamble they'll ever make!

FYI: Not all poker players are filthy rich. There are a lot of avg joes that are part of the PPA.

No, they aren't all rich. I guess my point is that they have disposable income, if poker money isn't disposable income, I don't know what is.
