Ron Paul just ripped McCain apart!!!

Even if there's global warming, there's nothing that can be done. These Dems want to ruin the economy to change the overall temp of the world by .0000001 degrees Celsius by 2100.

Partly correct. The dems want to ruin the economy but it has NOTHING to do with changing the temp of the world.

They use "global warming" the same way the GOP uses "terror threats" - to get the masses to happily hand over control to them so that they can be the "saviors."

:)

Terrorism is the FUD of the right.

Global warming is the FUD of the left.

Truth and reality are somewhere in the middle.

Global Warming IS HAPPENING, but 90-95% of it is related to cyclical solar activity.

Repeat: UNAM is projecting a cooling trend from about 2030. This is one of the largest research institutions in the world. THERE IS NOT ANY SCIENTIFIC CONSENSUS.

Remember who he was talking to. Hardcore conservatives. It was a bit of pandering that won't get replayed in the MSM. It was a safe move to make.
Yup. That was my take on it. RP accepts that are some valid points about the GW debate, but that any solutions must be managed by the market, not by government regulation and subsidy.

I thought it was great too.

Mocking McInsane's name dropping but he forgot Lieberman the warmonger.

Actually, there are things that can be done- that isn't the debate.

The debate is about what and how much should be done, and whether those efforts should be public or private.

We shouldn't swallow the Al Gore line 100%, but we also shouldn't believe all the BS we hear from the prominent right wing AM talk show hosts- most of whom have HIGH SCHOOL (Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, and others) diplomas and no understanding of even the rudiments of science.

And further, the Al Gore method is put all the onus on the developed countries (lowering their standard of living) without imposing any restriction on the developing countries, such as China. Just another way to redistribute wealth.

Have you read about all the asinine things they are doing in the UK? They tax them on each television, they make them pay 400 pounds to get some kind of monitor on their trash bin to monitor their trash and they're now proposing a 50 pound per day tax on driving in London.

NO! I'm not about to buy into that. I don't even buy into compact fluorescent lights--they contain mercury. I will buy a lifetime supply of incandescent light bulbs before I'll switch.

Great speech in general but...

If he only would have plugged his own campaign more! Huggiebear came right out saying he's not dropping out, RP should've done the same and more.

He should've said he's the only one real conservative candidate, and also why not mention the media blackout? He could have finished with something like...

"You won't be seeing or hearing much of me on the msm, they are ignoring me and saying its now a 2 man race with one clear winner. They must have their own reasons for doing this but they can't fool everybody. I'm here to say that freedom cannot be brushed aside and ignored, I'm still in the race and I am not alone, there are hundreds of thousands that have already voted for me and hundreds of thousands more waiting to, and more joing us every day! They are true patriots and conservatives willing to fight for the return to the constitution, and for the return of real freedom in America and we will continue to fight til the end, there is room for lots more, please join us! See you all on the campaign trail"

Frankly, after hearing his speech I would hardly say he is a candidate serious about winning the presidency.

Just my 2 euros worth

I didn't like the Gore hit... most people side with global warming...

Democrats are using global warming to push their agenda, just as the Republicans are using terrorism to push their agenda. Both of them are extremely overstated. Don't buy the fear.

mccain might lose 1/2 his support if they put his terrible speeches on cnn for like 20mins or more everyday

i say: instead of worry about global warming, how about we do something about the global waring that's been going on ...

Earlier today, when we bemoaned the absence of the old fire-in-his-belly Ron Paul from 1988, we had no idea that we were speaking too soon.

Ron Paul truly came out swinging at CPAC tonight!!!

I thought that was a weird attack too.

Aside from that I think this speech is amazing.. he's finally calling McCain out hardcore.

Why not attack Gore, the man is the antithesis of Ron Paul's philosphy, and by attacking a prominent Democrat it helps draw the distinction between Paul as a true conservative.

he's talking to conservatives!, of course attack al gore, duh
but his speech writer or advisers should be fired because ron paul lost them when he mentioned the war, pander Ron!

The latest studies coming from UNAM state that a cooling trend will begin within the next 30 years. UNAM is one of the biggest research institutions in the world.

I loathe Rush Limbaugh and Co., but there IS NO SCIENTIFIC consensus that global warming is all man's fault.

First off, no one with more than a high school education will say that "global warming is all man's fault"- that isn't even up for debate- its also not relevant.

Also, you will never have everyone agree on anything- there will always be someone who disagrees. But it may not be wise to base actions, or lack of action, on the opinion of a tiny minority- the "Flat Earth Society" types will always be there. Not that I'm comparing a university with the lofty credentials of the University of Mexico (I know, thats going to sound sarcastic to some) with the Flat Earth Society.

Okay, I'm going to stop before I piss of the entire nation of Mexico...bailing out now! :)
