Ron Paul is hinting at quitting race - CNN Front-page

Have they EVER in history reported on a presidential candidate HINTING anything??? They are nuts! Yea I see they have... part of the problem with MSM.

He said that "although victory in the conventional political sense is not available in the presidential race, many victories have been achieved due to the hard work and enthusiasm of his supporters."

Yes, CNN's emphasis on "hinting" is rather clever, eh? I guess they didn't get the rest of the memo...the part about him remaining in the race. ;)

Fuck 'Em! They suck. I'm used to it. This is the reason I want to be a journalist and help end this bullshit. That is if the truth isn't censored by an editor.

This is an Associated Press article... it's going to be everywhere.

Yes, and I don't feel like cuttin' and pastin' anymore. Apparently, the MSM continues to see the Paul movement as a threat so it continues with its rather useless effort to marginalize the movement. Personally, I'm not swayed at all by such irresponsible reporting. However, I'm sure the MSM's (AP in this case) ultimate goal is to adversely impact the remaining primaries against Ron Paul. Consequently, the MSM selectively picks and chooses any morsel which furthers their agenda.

"in the conventional political sense"
this confirms that we wont win this by the votes...its will go to something unconventional, such as brokered convention/taking over the convention in sept....thats what i gathered from that part.

Just for comparison, here's a pretty well written news story on the exact same subject at the NY Times:

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/03/07/paul-admits-conventional-defeat/

With the exception of the first paragraph, there isn't any conjecture or opinion interjected with the facts. News should be just facts.

I don't understand why today's journalists feel the need to add conjecture, opinion, and interpretation to their articles. It pisses me off and I find it insulting that they feel their readers aren't smart enough to look at facts and draw their own conclusions. If I wanted to read fiction I'd read a freaking novel.

He should have said "continue to the convention" and not "winding down".

Although the media apparently only listens to keywords.

Well, at this point, I guess any MSM coverage is good coverage. If he is staying in it, which he indicated, then at least people will have somewhat heard of him now.

I think they're afraid that come time to pick, even in the end, if it's just John McCain and Ron Paul on the ballot, they fear that the McCain haters will choose RP.

You have to wonder why they would do this now, after they declared McCain the winner already. But with Ron Paul the only opposition to McCain, getting people who might have cast a protest vote for Paul to think he has already dropped out could keep voter turnout low could be the goal. Of course, this is just rampant speculation, but something to think about nonetheless.
