I also just heard on CNN that 47% of Floridians believe the economy is the most important issue.

I wonder who the best economic candidate would be?

Maybe Ron Paul?

update from a poll worker I know;

Paul is currently taking 12% of the vote in his county and he called some other counties that currently have Paul around 15%. He also told me that there seems to be a wide range of results within these precincts because some have Paul at around 3-7% and others including his show him closing in on 15%. Keep in mind these are all hand counted counties and with these stupid voting machines I think anything over 6% in Florida would be an absolute victory.

My mom works in a orthodontics office that sees like 60-80 people a day. Her whole office voted for Ron, and every patient that came in today told them that they either voted for Ron Paul or Hillary.

Broward is Hillaryland, but the many RP votes (especially from young people) is a nice surprise. My mom's boss (who's one of those old cynical and slightly jaded libertarians) was shocked.

That's great news!

I didn't realize Broward was hillaryland, in Pembroke Pines/Miramar, Romney signs are everywhere. Some Mccain, but mostly Romney. I visited 2 voting precints in the monring, and both of those were covered with Romney people as well.

My friends first name is Brian but I worry about giving out his last name. He told me that he had never heard of Ron Paul until he saw his name on the ballot and then he was stunned that he is currently seeing RP taking 17% at his voting site!!! He then called up several other sites and they are all mostly reporting RP getting between 15 and 22% right now!!!

How is it possible that your friend never heard of Ron Paul? Didn't you tell him?

I can't vouch for this guy, but my grandma is a poll worker in Gilchrist country, FL. I called her cell and she said Ron's got about 9% there. VERY rural county.

Still better than I expected.
