Ron Paul International....

It's very nice to see new Swedes on the forum!

I voted for moderaterna in the last election and that was most likely the best choice (maybe centerpartiet as well). The social democrats are just awful, they stand for the worst of all things; collectivism. In the next election I might even vote for Piratpartiet or Liberala Partiet.

Anyway nice to see you here, send me a PM and tell me if there are any Swedish RP groups.

Hello Luleå!!

Well, that´s just the problem - there simply AREN'T any good choices available anymore! No matter which party I vote for I probably disagree with 70% of their views - it's like being between a rock and a hard place! Just like many Americans have been feeling of late, I am sure.

As Elton John is singing in one of his songs, "It's sad, so sad, and it's getting more and more absurd!"

It's fascinating hearing about the goings on in Sweden. Just goes to show you how much more in common we all have than we might think...

I don´t know of any libertarian parties or movements here in Sweden whatsoever - we just have a whole other system which is now deeply ingrained into the Swedish soul - the social democratic system. Yes, that means most things that matter are run by the government - education, free health care etc. - actually we are well taken care of and the system works well most of the time. So I´m not really complaining - it´s just that being a freedom-lover and an individualist at heart I sometimes find it downright spooky that the "government" has all those computer files on people and that you have to give the equivalent of your soc.sec.no. almost everywhere you "go" - and that no. includes your date of birth which annoys me greatly - what if I want to keep my age to myself??

By the way, even the so-called right-wing parties here in Sweden would be considered liberal lefties in the U.S., so there´s a difference alright! :-)

Oh no!! Don't tell the Bush Administration! They'll want to spread more "freedom and democracy" in Sweden too. You know how they do that, right???

As far as us Ron Paul supporters, we believe in a slightly different approach...:)

Hey Guys,

One thing that is overlooked, and hopefully I'm not repeating someone else is Ron Paul's strict belief in the 10th Amendment.

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved for the States respectively, or to the people."

The short story is, the states can choose to handle social issues the way they please. So one state could implement more social programs(such as Universal Health Care), but another state where people are very independent, may find this unnecessary.

To all of you guys from countries outside the U.S. , thanks for all of your support!! This is going to be a hard battle and we are going to need all the help we can get!

The 10th Amendment is unfortunately one of the many casualties of the expansion of Big Gov't that has occurred over the past 50-75 years.
