I live in Buenos Aires... fighting for Paul from a distance...

Just wish I could do more stuff 'on the ground' up there...

Believe me, he's well liked by Americans living overseas. We're the ones that have to suffer, listening to taxi drivers rant about how our foreign policy is all f'ed up etc... as our dollars get less valuable... At least they still go a long way in Argentina!

Here's an article I wrote about Ron Paul and living overseas: http://digg.com/political_opinion/What_Ron_Paul_Means_to_Us_Americans_Living_Overseas

What, you mean the rest of the world doesn't want an imperialist in the White House? ;) Why ever not? ;)

I'm doing what I can to spread the word in the UK!!!

We miss the days when it wasn't embarrassing and instantly offensive to say that you're American...

Hello, another Swede (female) here! I´ve caught the Ron Paul-fever and I´m running a very high temperature! :-)

By the way, I happened upon a Swedish blog - written by a member of The Green Party, no less! - and he writes that "Ron Paul is by far the best among the Republican candidates" and he goes on to praise his interview on The Colbert Report calling it "brilliant"! He has also added a link to the interview and refers to it as "a lot of fun"! As I said, this man sits in our Swedish Parliament as a member of the Green Party (part of the left-leaning alliance) and he STILL thinks Dr. Paul is a cut way above the rest - just goes to show how Ron Paul can reach people from all walks of life (and of all political persuasions) everywhere in the world!

Out of curiosity, since European and other countries are quite left-leaning, how represented do you feel about your governments and how large are "libertarian" (the american type of "libertarian") movements there?

I don´t know of any libertarian parties or movements here in Sweden whatsoever - we just have a whole other system which is now deeply ingrained into the Swedish soul - the social democratic system. Yes, that means most things that matter are run by the government - education, free health care etc. - actually we are well taken care of and the system works well most of the time. So I´m not really complaining - it´s just that being a freedom-lover and an individualist at heart I sometimes find it downright spooky that the "government" has all those computer files on people and that you have to give the equivalent of your soc.sec.no. almost everywhere you "go" - and that no. includes your date of birth which annoys me greatly - what if I want to keep my age to myself??

By the way, even the so-called right-wing parties here in Sweden would be considered liberal lefties in the U.S., so there´s a difference alright! :-)

That's a very interesting question.

Ron Paul would never get elected in the UK!!!! I can tell you that right away!

The British people are addicted to big government. Nobody here stops to think why there are CCTV cameras everywhere. They don't THINK why there are speed cameras on every main road. They DON'T think why local councils should have spy cameras in lamposts and in refuse bins. We are well on the way to a totalitarian dystopia here in the UK.........and most people are conveniently distracted by Big Brother or some other shitty television show to care that their freedom is being raped from them

The UK is finished. There are no political parties or politicians here who stand for freedom and liberty anymore. As long as house prices double every 10 years and they can buy cheap Chinese tat with their worthless Sterling notes, everything is hunky dory.

So right now, we are being educated by the people we most like to criticise, belittle and ridicule........the Americans!

You gotta laugh!

I love the international flavor.

As a response to the Swede on the government running everything, I think it's much more efficent with a smaller population such as yours, then 300 million people

Mattsa, I love your comment and your enthusiasm. I love all your guys' enthusiasm. You guys... make me miss Europe. lol. I'm always missing Europe...

Welcome to the Swedes!

Your command of English is remarkable, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Hey Argentina! I am doing my Paul promotion from Saskatchewan - Canada.

Any real-estate opportunities down there (in Argentina)?

I think it's possible that if he knew all of Ron Paul's positions he might not be so enthused. Dr. Paul believes in the maximum "självmyndighet" and "självansvar" possible, that government should get out of the education, health care, welfare, environmental protection etc. business. Should Dr. Paul's philosophy be practiced in Sweden, nearly all "myndigheterna" would disappear. Unfortnately, it is therefrom that much political power derives and there are few politicians (and I should think no Greens, (maybe Piratpartiet?)) who would really go for that in the Swedish Socialist Republic.

Hey Lemming...

The market's still cheap and red hot... check out my blog via that article... I end up writing about real estate a lot.

He may not share his opinions but he clearly admires the man anyway! I agree that Dr. Paul´s philosophy has no chance of catching on in Sweden as we are all totally used to our social systems (including myself) but oh, how enthusiastic I feel about his message - he´s such a breath of fresh air!

Oh yes, we are "only" 9 million people so it´s decidedly easier to have things running efficiently and smoothly over here! Over the years we have been "spoilt" expecting anything and everything to be perfect here in Sweden and things have been very good for the most part. However, with the never-ending influx of immigrants from Iraq, Iran, Somalia and what-have-you, things have taken a decided turn for the worse - and there is no end in sight.

Welcome to the Swedes!

Thanks so very much!! :-) I LOVE the U.S.A., that´s why I´m so interested in what´s happening in your wonderful country and I always follow the elections closely!

Spoiled (Am. sp.) or herded? One thing (among others) I see a welfare state doing (particularly one so efficient and and responsive to peoples' needs as Sweden's) is it makes them dependent on government and takes away their survival instincts. In some way I think it also causes people to think of "government" as a somewhat amorphous abstraction instead of people with agendas who are driven mostly by wanting power. The UN people further semantically remove "government" from actual people with their concept of "governance" But anyway, when the nice "government hand" feeding people gradually over time becomes the hand wielding the cattle prod, it's more difficult to resist such tyranny because people aren't used to taking care of themselves (and giving personally to charities to take care of the non-indolent needy).

However, with the never-ending influx of immigrants from Iraq, Iran, Somalia and what-have-you, things have taken a decided turn for the worse - and there is no end in sight.

Seeing the hysterical reaction to the events of 2001 (false flags, imo) politically and police agency-wise, I was so happy to study and later settle in such a comparatively sane country. But what you talk about has gotten worse since I've been here. I wanted to name my child, if it were a girl, "Svea". There was almost universal negative reaction to that among my friends, my wife's friends. The ostensible reason (bad enough) was that she would be "mobbad" (picked-on, bullied). But there was an undercurrent of "you are a 'racist'". I then realized that there is no more Sweden. I was sad.

I think the globalists want a uniformly third-world world, us all living in cities and having no property of our own, hence the immigration. Btw, did you see any reportage of Reinfeldt's attending Bilderberg? I didn't but maybe there was something I missed.

Did you vote for (the) Sverigedemokraterna :)?

One more thing, can you give the link to the blog you referred to?

What you said about the reactions to calling your daughter Svea just goes to show how twisted and frightening things have become - we are actually living in a country where we are supposed to feel ashamed of being Swedish because we might "offend" some immigrants to our country by standing by our traditions and values - downright sickening! And sadly, I think your friends were right in that your daughter could be in danger if she were to be given that name - a symbolic name for our country for those who do not know - what in the world is happening in this beautiful land of ours??

I know Reinfeldt (brrr, he gives me the creeps!) is a member of the Bilderberg group but I haven´t seen any photos.

No, I didn´t vote for Sverigedemokraterna but I´m not ruling it out at a later date if things keep going like they are now. Would you believe I voted for Socialdemokraterna (for the first time) - that was in large part due to the chills I get from Reinfeldt - both his looks and his ideas. My first votes were for Folkpartiet (a family tradition), then I have voted for the Green Party a couple of times. But it´s really, really hard to find a party you can wholeheartedly agree with - it´s come down to choosing the lesser evil or at least something that you can agree with.

Sure thing, here´s the link to the blog!
