This is an excerpt of what just went out to 500,000 (affluent and libertarian-minded) people... Should pull in some serious dollars for Paul, who is also a contributor to the DR...

*** Our friend Ron Paul is putting up a good fight. Will, our oldest son,
argues that we should get behind him now:

“The individual limit is $2,300: https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/

“While his chances of winning are low... I think it might be worth it,
just for him to make a good showing... And his Internet buzz is
impressive, check out my recent posts about his campaign:
http://goronpaul.blogspot.com/

“He gets more Internet traffic than any other candidate... and amusingly
wins almost every online poll about the GOP debates at CNN:

*** Does Ron Paul have a chance, we asked a savvy American friend from
Washington?

“No...of course not. If he starts becoming a threat to the establishment
candidates, the media will tear him apart. Ron is a guy who thinks about
things. He cares about the country and where it’s going. And he really
believes in the constitution. You can’t get elected in America with those
kinds of ideas. When they ask him a question, he gives an honest answer.
That’s no way to get elected. The press won’t stand for it. And the
voters, once they realize that Ron is sincere, will turn against him,
too.

“Well, could he get close enough to the Republican nomination that he
prods the party into taking a more traditional, conservative position?” we
asked.

“Maybe. Not likely...but maybe. The Republican Party has gone downhill
badly since the days of Ronald Reagan. At least the Gipper had a vision of
America. You know what John Locke wrote, ‘In the beginning, all the world
was America’? He meant that America was meant to be free and open. Reagan,
at least in the beginning, did believe that - ‘a city on a hill...a bright
shining beacon of liberty.’

“But now, the Republicans seem to be trying to outdo one another in
stupidity. They want to keep foreigners out - especially if they’re poor.
They want national ID cards...and Gestapo checkpoints...and a wall to keep
people out. The way things are going, it won’t be long before that wall is
used to keep people in.”

“I’ve been in Washington for more than 40 years, so I’m a little cynical.
I sure hope Ron Paul can make a strong enough showing to bring the
Republicans back to their senses, and I’m going to give him money, because
he’s an old friend and I want him to succeed. But I don’t know if I would
count on it.”

I hate the "low chance of winning" stuff, it's basically smearing, the support is not just on-line either as the gathering in my state showed, he had double that people as any other candidate, a lot of people do truly get his message, don't believe the spin/hype.

Romney has spent half his money already, where did that money go? "Marketing Firms" who then in turn paid for favorable Poll Results? (The Bush admin spent $1.6b on that type of stuff for dubya) The Bush clique is a big funder of romney and the Bush crowd has a lot of pull in the media.,, George W. and McCain were also in Skull n' Bones together keep in mind, its possible they are both backed by bush friends.

I don't know how many articles I read with "no chance of winning" at the start, that's basically smearing. No other republican is electable due to the iraq war and Bush's horrible job, so being the only candidate against the war, he has a good chance on nomination if this buzz continues.

The stage is set for Hillary to win after Bill's huge success though, all Hillary needs is bill clinton campaigning along side her and it might be over. Imagine Ron Paul and Hillary in a debate though? He'd destroy her. he he , so well, that's how he could become president.....

Keep in mind 20,000 signatures were gathered in almost no time when the RNC made comments that they would try to get Ron out of the next debates. The phone calls they received shut down their phone systems, haha.

Romney ads have been running on the business channels for a few months now. That costs money so that's where the money has gone.

Not as strong an endorsement as we would've liked...

The author here is pessimistic about everything... This is about as positive as he will get about politics. His readers understand that... They will support Paul.

DailyReckoning.com is a great site

I have been reading DailyReckoning.com for years. A mention on their site goes a long way I can assure you. By the way Bill Bonner's book (the editor of dailyreckoning) An Empire of Debt is a must read and should be added to the reading list in my opinion.

BTW: Bill and the DR people weren't really happy with how the RP plug turned out, as Bill is friends with RP and wants to do more to support him... I think they're going to take another shot at it... And perhaps make a concerted company effort to raise money for the Paul campaign from their databases, which could be huge...

DailyReckoning is one of my favorite web sites. I like to read opinions from independent economists; that is, people who are not on the Wall Street payroll and who don't work for the government. DailyReckoning, FinancialSense and a few others post articles from some very smart, independent thinkers.

In general, Ron Paul gets noticed most among those who think for themselves and who don't look to some large news organization like Fox/Faux news to tell them what to think.

There is a huge Ron Paul following developing among those who read and follow the writings of financial analysts in the Austrian economist school of economics. The Austrian school of economics sounds arcane, but its philosophy simply boils down to one thing - the use of precious metals (gold and silver) as money in financial transactions. It has been know for hundreds of years that paper money unbacked by gold always leads to government spending more than it receives. The difference is made up by printing paper money which leads to debasement of the currency (or inflation). Sound money was understood by our country's founders and is mandated in the constitution. Sound money makes abuse of power such as funding empire building impossible. We have a long way to go before we can even begin to address the monstrous fiscal imbalances of the world economies. NONE of the other members of congress even understand our problems let alone how to fix them. Ask Rudy Guiliani about money supply growth and wait for the blank stare.

I'm 100% positive the other politicians "get it" economically and how things work and they are just playing to the system just to win. Giuliani knows how economics work probably better than you can imagine. They just don't care. If the economy is good for the 4 years they are in that's all they care about. They don't care about 30 years down the road.
