Beat me by 3 minutes, but I posted the same schedule in the MN section. :p

It's nice to see that Duluth and the Iron Range get shafted once again by the Presidential candidates. I was hoping that Paul would make an appearance. Oh, well.

Is their going to be a rally for the results of the Nevada caucus?

That's what I was wondering. I don't think results of the Nevada Caucus will be out by 5:30 Minnesota time (which is 3:30 Nevada time.) Maybe the crowd at Bethel will stick around for an encore performance by Dr. Paul later in the evening? :)

CD 7 and CD 8 aren't populated enough.

If you want people to come to you, you have to be in a place easy to get to and in an area where it makes political sense.

There is a reason why no Presidential candidates go up there; it's not worth their time.

Congressional districts are determined so each has the same amount of residents, so to say they aren't populated enough is incorrect. Duluth and the surrounding communities have more people than the St. Cloud area and Paul is going there, so to say it isn't worth the time is ridiculous. There is very good chance that we'll win most of the delegate spots for Duluth. So to disregard the Paul supporters in the northern half of the state is like a slap in the face. President Bush came up here.

From wikipedia, regarding St. Cloud:

With 189,093 residents at the 2010 census, the St. Cloud metropolitan area is the third-largest Minnesota population center, behind Minneapolis-St. Paul and Duluth-Superior, and slightly ahead of Rochester (with 186,011 residents).

Yeah, you're right, it's not worth their time. Maybe it won't be worth my time to caucus on Tuesday for him either.

Wow. Maybe you should chill out a little bit before publicizing your threats.

I'll be driving 7 hours from Illinois to see RP on Saturday in MN. Maybe you've got your perspective backwards a little bit.

I think I will go to both the one in Cloud and Minni. Whether I am on the street or in a seat I am showing support!

What are the population amounts of each district?

Again, centralization and density.

Please, try and think these things through before you decide to cop an attitude.

According to the 2010 census, the 8 Congressional Districts have the following amount of residents (source: http://www.demography.state.mn.us/resource.html?Id=31942 ):

CD1: 644,787
CD2: 732,515
CD3: 650,185
CD4: 614,624
CD5: 616,482
CD6: 759,478
CD7: 625,512
CD8: 660,342

So, CD8, has the 3rd highest amount of potential voters.

I'm not trying to cop an attitude, I just feel that having four events in two days within a 50 mile radius and another event 50 miles away from those while dismissing the entire upper half of Minnesota is a bit of a slap in the face. Instead of having 3 events in the Twin Cities on Saturday and another one on Monday, why not have the Monday event be in Duluth? But, whatever, it is what it is.

By going to St. Cloud instead of Duluth he's able to hold 3 events in 1 day instead of 2. It's too bad but it is what it is. Plus St. Cloud, while in CD6, is only 20 min from the borders of CD7 and CD8. He might not get the population center of CD8 (Duluth) but hopefully it will have an impact in some of the outlying precincts there.

I'm pumped that he's speaking at my alma mater on Saturday (Bethel University). It's a very religious (Baptist) school with a ton of evangelicals. It's important for the Paul supporters to know the audience. Bethel makes all their students sign "lifestyle" pledges abstaining from sex, alcohol and tobacco while attending school (though I admit not all the students follow the code...although I graduated I'm typing this with a big dip of tobacco in my gums) so please don't smoke on the campus. It would have more impact on the undecideds to focus on economic issues, sound money, pro-life and religious liberty.

The St. Cloud event is on Monday, where there is only one other event scheduled (Minneapolis). Like I said, it wouldn't have been too difficult to have the three events in or near the Cities on Saturday and then have the St. Cloud event on Monday along with a later event in Duluth. They would travel the Twin Cities region all day Saturday, while speaking in central Minnesota (St. Cloud) and northern Minnesota (Duluth) on Monday. We also have a religious school in Duluth, College of St. Scholastica, where it would have been nice to see Ron Paul speak at. But, you're right, it is what it is.

Good points, but there are other factors involved too. Logistics, Ron's schedule, other media interviews, moving the jet around, etc. And then there are of course more important electoral concerns such as the weight of each area as it relates to the delegates. CD8 is the lowest priority because of the way the state electoral math works. It's just like Florida; it doesn't make mathmatical sense to expend resources to go there. CD 8 is the same way.

But I've heard the Duluth crowd is indeed doing an awesome job!
