Ron Paul HQ Launches Mail Iowa Program!

Here's a variation on the Hamadah quote (spelling?):

"If you could spend thirty-five dollars to stop the Iraq War and secure America's borders would you do it?"
Vote Ron Paul at the Iowa Straw Poll

Lord Xar,

You're truly amazing! You've done an amazing amount of work for this grass roots effort. I'm sorry I can't help you. I already will be busy writing letters for the rest of the week and more.

:D :D :D :D

16 more done. I'm up to 126.

One secret to getting the letters completed, is to do them *BEFORE* logging into RonPaulForums.

Great work! :)

There's still plenty of time to mail off letters for anyone interested in joining the Mail Iowa Program. From what I'm told next Monday is the last effective day to mail off your letters. Just imagine how many letters could be sent if just a few more Ron Paul supporters decided to help.

:D :D :D :D :D :D

What are the numbers for how many names have been sent out for the call/mail Iowa programs? I seem to remember seeing 200,000 somewhere on the forums.

Anybody have the numbers on where we are right now, how many names the campaign has given out?

Ok so ive only written like 5 letters by hand... and its a little more than a week until the straw poll. I WANTED to get them to iowans before the debates but theres no chance of that now. So... would it be better to send like 15-20 hand written letters, or 50 or so typed generic letters (with personalized address)? And would they get there before next sunday... hopefully?

I would send the 5 you got and send the rest printed off your PC. Then handwrite the address of the envelopes and send them as soon as possible.

It's debatable, but I think we need quantity right now. The message has enough quality to make up for it being printed. ;)

Liberty owes all you people a big pat on the back.

Pie Swindler,

Did you get those addresses early on? They could be closer to Ames than the addresses the campaign is issuing now. If they are closer geographically to Ames then they are more important. This is something to think about.

Nobody really knows the answer to that. A true hand written letter should have more impact. But then, if it doesn't... you have spent a lot of time crafting it for an unresponsive person...

My next series of letters will include the Ron slim jims. So I'll be editing the letter a bit, to ask people to read them.

Seems like a good idea to me to include a slim jim or a tri-fold flyer with the letter. Let Dr. Paul's message do most of the talking. :D

this is what I am gonna do.. I have 150 envelopes ready to go... with the "pdf" printed back/front , WITH quotes by ron paul on one page.... And then a printed "hand-writen" by me. In other words.. I wrote on a piece of paper, and then xeroxed that a bunch and then 'pen marked over it' to make it look like it was hand written, make sense?

----> I gotta hurry and stuff these all.. I rented 300 tonight, so I am gonna be i spartan mode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No i got those addresses this week. THey are from perry, dallas center, W des moines, dexter.. all places about 40 minutes away from ames. I'm thinking i might just do cold calls, even though ive never done them before, and just suck it up and do all 100 this week.

Ok I don't know if its a bit late to write these letters, but I did it anyway (25 of em') Check it.

My name is and I am a volunteer writing in support of Congressman Ron Paul for President. I am not out to get your money, not frustrate you with spam mail; I am simply a regular American who has grown wary of the direction our nation is headed. This is why I’m writing you on behalf of Dr. Ron Paul, because he is the single candidate who has the credibility and courage to return government to constitutional levels. Please let me explain some of Ron Paul’s positions:

• Ron Paul has never voted to raise taxes.
• Ron Paul has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
• Ron Paul has never voted against the Constitution.
• Ron Paul voted against the Patriot Act.
• Ron Paul voted against the Iraq War.
• Ron Paul voted against regulating the Internet.

If you would like to see honesty and principle return to government, then I would kindly suggest that you visit Ron Paul’s website at (www.ronpaul2008.com). If you like what he stands for, the best way for you to support him is to vote in the Iowa Straw Poll in Ames, Saturday Aug. 11th. More information can be found at the top right of the webpage, just click the Iowa icon. Thank you for your time and consideration.

HOW COME NOBODY mentions anything about ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.. I feel like people are oblivous to this.. This is a TOP THREE concern for americans.. if not in the top 2.. and yet all these letters never mention it... strange to me..

do all of you live in an area unaffected by it?

Here is what I am sending:

"Dear Ms. xxxxx:

I am an unpaid volunteer writing to you in support of presidential candidate Congressman Dr. Ron Paul. Like most Americans, I believe that this country is headed in the wrong direction and Dr. Paul is the only presidential candidate that offers real hope for America. What would make me devote my time, efforts, stamps etc… writing you this Sunday in support of this man?

Dr. Paul is currently in his 10th term in Congress and has proved time and again that he votes on principle before party. He takes his vow to uphold the Constitution very seriously, as well as his commitment to lowering taxes and lowering the size of the federal government.

Here is a brief overview of Congressman Paul’s record:

-He has never voted to raise taxes.
-He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
-He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
-He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
-He has never taken a government –paid junket.
-He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
-He voted against the Patriot Act.
-He voted against the Iraq war.
-He doesn’t participate in the lucrative congressional pension programs.
-He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. Treasury every year.

Congressman Paul is very tough on the fight against illegal immigration. While he agrees that strong border enforcement is crucial, he realizes that we must end the incentives that cause the flood of illegal immigrants to come into this country. This includes ending the free handouts for illegal aliens that we cannot afford and putting an end to birthright citizenship or “anchor babies”.

Dr. Paul has been an outspoken leader against the Iraq war since before the invasion and advocates a humble foreign policy overseas while keeping us strong here at home. The Iraq war has diverted us from our fight against Al Qaeda and our hunt for Osama Bin Laden, which has only strengthened our enemy.

I would like you to consider supporting Dr. Paul for President at the Iowa Straw Poll in Ames on Saturday, August 11 from 10 AM to 6 PM. I invite you to visit his website at www.ronpaul2008.com or call toll-free at 1-800-Ron-Paul to learn more about him and his positions. The best way to support him is to vote for Dr. Paul at the Iowa Straw Poll in Ames on August 11. To RSVP and get more information, go to www.ronpaul2008.com and click the Iowa icon at the top of the page. I hope you can join us and I appreciate your time.

Regards,

Lucius Apuleius

P.S. I have enclosed a ‘Citizens Rule Book’ and a DVD that I made, which will show you more about Dr. Paul. I am a poor DVD maker, just downloaded and cobbled together files off the Internet. I don’t care for much of the music but the content is good. I do like the Hawaiian playing the ukulele at the end—Jake. Just know that I am excited about Dr. Paul for President and hope that you can help us out August 11 in Ames at the Iowa Straw Poll. Once again, I appreciate your time."

OK, I slacked a bit on the mail ... but I did ten more tonight and am running out for some more tape and paper. I'm up to 136 now, and I got 50 addresses from another forumer that need to be mailed.

This next batch will include some Ron slim jims. I grabbed a fat handful at the Rock Hill meetup, may as well put them to use.

My new letter. I think this is my best one yet. With the slim jims included for Ron to sell himself, I'm free to explain more about WHY I'm writing. Italics get written by hand.

Hello /Iowan/

I'm a volunteer in Charlotte NC, who paid the postage on this letter to tell you about a candidate that I support: RON PAUL. He has a 20 year voting record of keeping his promises, and we urgently need honesty in government again.

Obviously there is a lot of noise in Iowa this time of year, trying to sway people. I know one letter alone doesn’t change anyone’s mind. But Iowans’ votes matter nationally, since the news media declares only a few candidates as “viable” - and I want Ron Paul to be campaigning when my state holds its primaries. So, I am trying.

I’m 39 years old and have been hearing all my voting life about the budget deficit, inflation, illegal immigration, and an ever-increasingly-complex tax code. Are you also tired of these problems?

Most of the Republican presidential candidates, are not offering much in the shape of change. They are common politicians, just telling us what they think we’ll like hearing.

However, Ron Paul is different.

He embrances individual liberty and small government, and has preached this message all his life. His support comes from many quarters. From folks soured on politics who haven’t voted for years, looking for honesty and integrity in a candidate. From anti-war Democrats that feel their party is not doing enough to stop the loss of lives in Iraq. From constitutionalists and arch-conservatives, that feel that the Republicans have never delivered on their promises to be responsible with tax revenue.

If elected, Ron Paul would press for these reforms:

• Repeal the Patriot Acts and the Military Commissions Acts, to affirm our freedoms and privacy
• Stop endangering our soldiers in Iraq’s civil war, or for United Nations mandates
• Cut government spending, (for real this time)
• Enforce immigration law, and protect American sovereignty
• Let states set their own education, environment, and regulatory laws.

The party establishment has tried repeatedly to marginalize his voice. His message, that the mainstream party has strayed from it’s core principles, is not comfortable to them. But the people are listening, and attending his speeches by the hundreds. I saw this for myself in Greenville, SC where he spoke!

Please research Ron Paul, as a choice for this country. Consider going to the Ames straw poll this August 11th and voting for him, to show the county that WE WANT CHANGE!

I am not a computer. I really wrote this letter, and I hope you will see how important it is that we alter the business-as-usual attitude in Washington. For too long they have been using tax code gimmicks and deficit spending, to purchase re-election. We need leadership, and someone that can articulate why burdening our children with debts, and squeezing our freedoms away bit-by-bit, is no way to run a country!

Thank You for listening today

Sincerely,

My name
