Ron Paul Handheld Pole: How to Make?

Does anyone know how to make the Handheld Ron Paul Pole with 3 signs on top that is shown in the University of Michigan Supports Ron Paul video?

Great video. There is hope for us in Michigan.

It looks like they just took a stick, stapled three signs together, then stapled or otherwise fastened a string to the signs, then fastened the string to the top of the pole/stick. Nothing complicated.
