the information is on another thread, it is free, you don't need tickets because the venue is huge, and it starts at 6 on April 15. It is in the sticky thread at the top of the forum, as well.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — ACCENT Speaker’s Bureau at the University of Florida will bring politician, physician and author Ron Paul to campus on April 15.

Paul represented Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1976 to 1977, from 1979 to 1985 and from 1997 to 2013.

Known for his advocacy for a smaller federal government, individual liberty and free markets, Paul sought the presidency of the United States three times. He ran in 1988 as the Libertarian Party candidate and again in 2008 and 2012 in the Republican primaries.

With a political career lasting more than 30 years, Paul has written several books on his political views including “The Revolution: A Manifesto, Liberty Defined,” and “End The Fed.”

Paul earned his bachelor’s degree at Gettysburg College and his medical degree at Duke University. Paul will be talking telling UF students about his ideology and political career.

The program starts at 8 p.m. at the O’Connell Center and will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and admission is free and open to the public. Photography will not be allowed during the program, but news media may record and photograph during the first five minutes of the remarks.

For those with disabilities that require special accommodation, please call 352-392-5500.

I really wish we were getting video of at least his question and answer sessions! i can understand not his speech if he is on a speaker's circuit, but the Q & As are always different, and are always great.

Doesn't sound right.

Even if he is on a speaking circuit, which I know nothing about, pictures and video are a form of advertisement and get the word out. Getting the word out should increase desire to attend. There is a magic in seeing him live.

They have a rule like that at a concert venue near me. They don't seem to mind little cameras or phones. I only noticed one person with a telephoto size camera. I think they were with the bands.

Flash isn't allowed but some times cameras can surprise you with one. I may tape mine over just encase next time.

I really wish they'd let people video the q & a and I am going to keep saying that until maybe it happens. I'm thinking he is cutting his fee at minimum for colleges and it is probably the deal he has with his speaker circuit to be able to do this, that they can't spread his speech around.....

but I'd really like to see his q & a.

The first 5 minutes of his speech are never the best, he has to hit his stride.

When we attended a RP luncheon camera's weren't allowed during the speeches. When we attended a RP rally later that day they were. I don't really understand why it was that way but it was.

Isn't he coming to NYC soon? What was the date, time, and details again?

I want to try to go... I've never actually went to one of his speeches yet.

They are allowing media to do it for the first few minutes. But the booking agent is making bank off of this, and they don't want his remarks being spread all over the Internet (although honestly, we all know what Ron is going to say anyway ha ha ha ha). My guess is that it's in Ron's contract. Chances are though it won't be enforced if I had to guess.

Some remarks are not intended for the general public.

If you ever get a chance, ask for people to be able to tape the Q & A only -- that always varies and it won't give anything away, and it is the best part, imho.
