I was thinking..

as we all know, Rick Fairy will be running for a 3rd term as Governor.. and this puts us in an interesting situation..

If Ron Paul is not able to get the nomination and all that..

i was thinking that we should start a grassroots draft movement to get Dr.Paul to run for Governor of Texas.

we all know he could win easy, there would be no "he cant win" stigma to fight against.

think about it! Governor Ron Paul!

the best part us that we can prove all the things he has been saying, because really, being a Governor is like running a mini country.

we could prove just how well our ideals and practices of limited government work!

I myself, and thousands of others would give all their time and effort to get him elected.

In one sense I like it. In another sense I don't--the federal level is where the malaise is the greatest, where a proper foreign policy can do the most good, and where states' rights is actually endangered. I don't know if Dr. Paul wants to exit that fight, and I don't know if I want him to exit that fight either. Now, if Texas had a senate seat opening up...

If you just can't find yourself a Murray, get Kinky in there if you have to...

the only problem is kinky is in ron paul's position before the revolution and he cannot win..

to challenge this asshole incumbant we need the Champion of the Constitution

I understand your point but, with all these Ron Paul congressman running, we could spare one..

and if we really want to get rid of the ttc now, he could really help in that effort 1000 times more as Governor

and he could set precedence and really show the other states how to stand up for their rights.

and he would be my President if we succeed. :D

As an Oklahoman, you may have just changed my mind! All politics is local after all...

I think Ron Paul is too valuable an asset in Congress. Maybe we should find someone from our meetups and push them into office. Perry won last time because We divided the anti Perry vote too much. Hopefully we won't have this problem this time. I do think that the time is now to start setting up for that race.

Maybe--the TTC link would just about qualify it I think. Sure would prefer to get one of our younger people in that office, though. Since governorships are so often a springboard to the White House, I'd prefer to be grooming someone for the future of the national stage.

Even so, anything to get rid of Prick Perry.

i posted this in Grassroots Central..

also,

Im not sure.

the thing about a ron paul governorship is that he would win for sure.. it wouldnt be an uphill battle

The TTC will be Perry's downfall. It officially gone mainstream and I have never heard anyone ever for it anyways. His name and the TTC are inseperable.

We should split the Perry vote whoever runs against him! We could set up a dummy campaign, or nominate Chris Peden! He could run on 1. "Forcing the TTC down your throats without a vote from the people. 2. Starting a free rail service from Mexico City to several big Texas cities, one way of course, North! 3. Raising TAXES! 4. Selling out the people to the globalists! He could say, vote for me, just like Perry except upfront and in your face with the truth!

I think we should go with Kinky. But I think this discussion is beneficial for us. We NEED to target Perry and defeat him soundly.

I would definitely support and vote for Kinky... again... but Ron Paul's politics are definitely more geared toward the federal level. The ideas of sticking to the Constitution and abolishing the Federal Reserve and many other departments doesn't have much of a place in the office of Governor.

I agree. As good as Gov. Ron Paul sounds, most of my disagreements come from the Federal Level. ($416 income tax in one friggin week)
But, Gov. Paul could help secure our borders and help bring property taxes down. He could help us truckers with these stupid laws against us truckers.

I wonder if there will be a libertarian or a constitutionalist running for Governor.

we have to run a Strong Liberty Candidate regardless of if it is Ron Paul or not.

we have to defeat Rick Fairy. or say hello to eminent domain + NAU etc..

Texas Governor is Perfect

I think this is a great idea. Ron Paul has been in congress for ten terms and Wash., D.C. is just getting worse.

I think the state level is the perfect platform for fighting against the D.C. elite. It is easy to ignore one congressman, not so easy to ignore a popular governor of a major state.

Especially a border state with so much oil, gas, energy, Rx, lumber, and many other resources.
For sure, there are alot of NEOCONS within our state legislature that needs to be addressed.

Heck, Ron Paul, might even be in favor of getting Texas out of the union and turn it back to it's own country. Which, I don't think would be too bad of an idea. Considering that the USA is doomed to depression and more wars with the likes of Obama as president.

My grandfather originally called Ron Paul a communist, and even he (my grandfather) said he doesn't think the TTC is a good idea. I think this is a good idea. Instead of Texas seceding, how about Texas leading by example. Anyway, there is potential here.
