Ron Paul DVD

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post, as I just joined this forum. I've put together a DVD of several Ron Paul interviews and debates; 3 1/2 hours worth of media coverage, downloaded from the Internet. My goal is to get it into the hands of Ron Paul supporters, to distribute to those who may not have Internet access. I've found it to be a VERY helpful tool locally, and have given a copy to every member of my family, and several friends. I plan to either a) add more videos, as they become available, to this same DVD, or even b) create another DVD of new videos, in the future.

Why waste any DVD space? Put as much as will fit, people can watch as little as they want.

Thanks. Yes, I agree. Get as much information into people's hands as possible. Then, let them watch what catches their interest. One person I've given it to watched it twice... the entire thing. Since we discovered Ron Paul... we've spent a LOT more than 3 hours watching clips on Ron Paul. It just helps to fuel our fire.

Well, the ISO is a little over 4 GB (a standard DVD5 image). I've been attempting to upload it to the servers, but it's very slow-go. I started uploading it again last night, and it's about 2GB into it. So, maybe by the end of today, it will be available. I'm going to mail a disc down to the hosting facility today, to copy the image from. I also plan to post a .zip file containing the VIDEO_TS folder (only), which compressed to about 3.7 GB.

I'm not familiar with who "avaroth" is, but yes, there are some most excellent videos on YouTube.

I would love to see the NH NPR interview on there. That's still about the best long-form interview he's done. It contains a lot of relevant biographical info that isn't presented as well anywhere else.

And I trust there's no copyrighted music on this behind the menus or anything. That's been a problem for making duplicates of past DVDs.

bittorrent?

I've had pretty good luck distributing Ron Paul DVD's via bittorrent. Just upload the .torrent to a couple of sites like http://www.thepiratebay.org and http://www.conspiracycentral.net:6969 .

Once it gets seeded people can download it pretty quickly and you don't have to worry about hitting your bandwidth limit from your hosting provider.

Perhaps an address list of people (say in NH) would be a good idea. We buy and pick an address. Address gets checked off. That sort of thing.

Postage $0.58 (Guessing: $0.41 + $0.17 USPS "nonmachinable surcharge" due to a square "letter")

PayPal Fee $0.34 (2.9% + $0.30 = Ouch!)

For orders of more than one DVD, your figures are off - unless you want a separate $1.44 paypal payment for each DVD in a multiple order, and intend to ship each one of a multiple order in a separate envelope.

Might want to convert it to divx. It would be significantly smaller. Then people could convert back if they want to create their own DVDs.

I have seen a full length version on another DVD, with video in the studio but I don't know where it came from.

I have several available, but not a ton yet, as I haven't yet received the 8 target DVD duplicator I ordered yesterday. I am burning them, with a single drive, as fast as possible, at the moment. If you want/need more than one, shoot me an e-mail, or call. I've not yet shipped any, so am not quite sure what the exact postage is going to be.

At the moment, I'm not quite sure exactly what postage will run. I'm waiting on the 400 disc mailers to arrive. Will hopefully get the numbers figured out soon. Stay tuned.

I'm game for whatever works best. Guess tell me the total you want to purchase, and I'll figure out what exactly it's going to cost to produce, and ship them. Then, once payment is made, I'll get them on their way, and keep track of who's been sent one, on your list.

Sounds like a good idea. However, due to time constraints, and just the need to keep things as simple as possible, it might be best to just continue with the current plan, at the moment. Will see what I can do, however, as soon as I get this thing off the ground more.
